All of them dissolve perfume.
I would use non of them in body product because they make skin dry.
Lauryl increase viscosity, others reduce viscosity.

Was there any side effect from transparent package & no UV absorber in shampoo with formalin?I am using formalin and that may be more sensitive in everything than DMDM hydantoin i think.

@ketchito my shampoos has SLES/CAPB at 3:1 and 7:1 ratios. So it may have coacervate. I use 5% nacl
By desorption, do you mean removing polymer that is already attached to hair from previous shampoo with cationic guar?
Also how does NACL effect PQ10 in shampoo with SLES/CAPB in above ratios?

You can adjust pH anytime but before adding surfactant, how do you know how much sodium hydroxide do you need to adjust ph?
Also don’t forget to add chelating agent.

If it is leave on hair product in my opinion everything is below 1% or Cyclopentasiloxane is 1-2% and the rest of it is below 1%.

40% sodium hydroxide is very strong. I make 10% of it and even that increases pH a lot very fast.

Whqt are the ingredients?
What was the pH before & after?

How much salt is this come salt?
You can add less salt. -

If it goes into eye there are more irritating ingredients like preservative, chelating agent and fragrance & other ingredients in your product than pH.
You should avoid it going to your eyes.

I don’t have experience in hair gel but all my products including emulsions are in flip top bottle.
-
If you are are a startup, bottle is better for you than jar in any way.
- it is less expensive
- it is easier to preservative the product in it- high viscosity cream only has more thickener than low viscosity. No other difference. You can reduce the thickeners and save more money.
- easier to make lower viscosity product
- easier to fill lower viscosity product. -
Newtoformulating said:@PhilGeis It’s a jar. I know, I know that’s the worst thing to put my product in but at the moment in this stage of development that’s all I can do. I would love for my formula to be in a tube to reduce contamination but it’s just not feasible at the moment. That’s why I’m looking for a robust preservation system.
@MarkBroussard ok thanks. I will order 1,3 propanediol. Would it make sense to add Peg 40 hydrogenated castor oil to help with solubility along with 1,3 propanediol or just use the 1,3 propanediol?
Why are you not using a flip top bottle. It is cheaper and better than jar.
-
Is it supposed to be applied around the eyes or inside the eyes?
If around the eyes then pH ≤4.8 is better.
I don’t know about inside the eyes.
-
Yes
Got it
