    butter and oil are the food for bacteria. There is no purpose for them to be there.

    Normally a hair conditioner would take care of static unless the hair is porous/damaged or it is so fine that has no room to hold the hydration in the hair cuticle. I have very fine hair and I have not been able to make a conditioner to solve this problem, so I apply a leave on hydrating product which would take care of it.

    Hi, I’ve made a clarifying shampoo more than 6 month ago with the PH of 7.5 and used the blue spirulina to give it a cool color. I think the color has faded about 30-40% by now. Google says 🙂 spirulina is an alkaline and the optimum PH for it is between 8-11.

    I also were using green spirulina in hair mask with the PH of 6 and the color would fade away after 2 weeks. definitely high PH is the best to preserve the color.

    @Ryan23294 , thanks for your reply. I’ve bought this ingredient because I heard a lot about it but it is too heavy for my hair. My hair can’t tolerate more than 0.5g. Thanks again

    Sorry but I have another question,
    Is there any of those polymers in the list or even Hyaluronic acid would lend a better glide and detangling to the formula with no compatibility issue.
    Thanks

    chemicalmatt , Thank you for your time and the explanation.

    I’ve bought these 2 surfactants as
    * Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isothionate, 80% active …….    https://www.trulux.com.au/product/sodium-lauroyl-methyl-isethionate-slmi-flakes-
    Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, 85%

    Could it be from other manufacturer than Iselux ?
    Btw, thanks for the formula, I’ll try something similar to this.

    Abdullah, Thanks for your respond.

    13g each of: Cocamidopropyl betaine & Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, and
    4g each of: Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isothionate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Caprylic, Capric Glucoside.

    It lathers well, cleanse well and it is not irritating but I am not sure how it would perform on build up.
    I tried testing it by applying lots of dimethicone on my hair (my hair is virgin), then washed it, it seemed it cleaned my hair very well but I though maybe the hair build up is more stubborn. So I would like to know if I need more of the anionic than amphoteric surfactants because of the charge.
    Btw, I am going to keep the pH at 7-7.5 , so don’t the amphoteric surfactants have negative charge at higher pH? Thanks

    @helenhelen , Sorry for late reply, I just saw it and you might have found your answers.
    I’ve bought Keradyn HH from trulux.com.au in Australia. I gave up on it. I tried  the method they gave me but still didn’t work. I finally added more emulsifier and it thickened up but I didn’t like its feeling on my hair because it was too heavy. Sorry for not seeing your message.

    No I have not. That’s a good idea but not sure if they reply to me.
    Thanks for reply.

    @ozgirl , sorry for the mistake I made. Emulsense HC doesn’t contain phenoxyethanol and I mixed up with another ingredient. I’ve just bought some Emulsense HC as you suggested to do some experiments on. I have super fine and super charged hair and if this ingredient kills static on my hair, it means it works for everyone  :)
    Thanks everyone for all your help.

    ozgirl , thank you. The Emulsense HC seems like a good option but it preserved with phenoxyethanol :(  and we have to list it on the label. We just changed our preservative because of phenoxyethanol.  Thanks again

     Thank you both, the INCI name of Trufeel is Diheptyl Succinate, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer which is simillar to LexFeel®. Have you had any experiments on it? do you think it could lend a good anti-staic property to my conditioner? Thanks

    My 2 cents, have you calculated the actives in your formula?
     The active in shampoo should be between 10-15 as I’ve read but yours is much higher than that and could be irritating in the long run.
    * Lauryl glucoside- 14% ..  active 50-60%  =7.7
    * Sodium cocoyl isethionate - 5%  .. active 85% =4.25
    * Decyl glucoside- 10%  ..  active  51-53% =5.2
    * CAPB- 7 %  ..  active %30  =2.1
    7.7+4.25+5.2+2.1= 19.25

    Your formula has around about 20% actives which is more suitable for body wash

    I always use them up to the expiry date. I don’t believe 100% oil/wax products needs preservatives. I was making lip balms a few tears ago and never added one, just vitamin E and Rosemary extract.

    @ketchito , Thank you for your response.
    I have one more question please. If you are going to add salt to your formula for thickening and acid to reduce the PH, which one has to be added first? I add the acid first and at the end I use the salt.
    Thanks in advance.

    @Perry  Thanks, I couldn’t find anything that says, Silica dimethyl silylate  is silicon. Is this really silicon or not? I need to avoid silicon. :) Thanks

    @Perry , Thank you , I’ve read this method first time on Swiftycraftmonkey blog. I don’t believe keeping the oil/wax and water portion at 70 degree for 20 minutes would do any good but it was like a what if. :)
    @Microformulation , thank you.

    evchem2 , Thank you for your respond.

    I’d like to make a very light conditioner which suits my very fine hair to reduce static. I use Demineralized water and I have 2 gums, Polyquat-10 and PVP which I’d like to add, so I have one cationic and one non ionic plus a very small amount of emulsifier. I added both gums to the oil portion because it is easier to process but I’d like to know if they make any difference in performance (glide) and viscosity if I add them to the water or oil or at the beginning or at the end of process. Is there any rule to follow? Thanks
