Im making a Dean-stark alike aparatus for a 100l reactor to make some esters, my problem right now is that i cant buy Sulhpuric Acid, i Will try with phosphoric an see. I Will try  Benzyl and n-propyl acetate . 

Im pretty sure that you cant Achive a Esterificacion in normal conditions. You Will need to Heat and mix the product, the pressure Will rise a little although you need to use a reflux condenser and a wáter trap

You also need a catalyst as h2s04 to beging the reaction

I mean i just want a tip ti beging sterification. I mean i cant afford buying all those rawmaterials Just to try all the mixes, for example there are a lot of esters that smell like Banana for example, nobody wanta banana smell on the floor. On the other Hand according to a little of research on internet It seams that there are a lot of esters that smell like cherry, well if someone can help me to select an Acid and alcohol ti beging i Will vevery grareful.

@Belassi hello how are you?, Well, im not trying to compete with giuvadan, im only aiming to make some esters for simple products like floor desifentants, im  not aiming to sell they, Just to use use for my own products, in your country is easy and maybe cheap to buy fragances, but in my country there almost no way to buy fragances locally, and the shipment are very expensive, we are blocked from Usa and their allies.

I have made esters in lab, and i have the equiment yo make 150kg batch, a small stainless steel 200l reactor with, mixing reflux, condenser and heating capabilities. Im ussing it right now to destil Orange and lemon oil.

Hello, as @Chirag sugested, you need to measure the ph, over neutralized or an acid liquid soap could be cloudy, your formulation is very much the stardar for a cheap liquidsoap

Yes h2s04 needs a very very special paper work, because its used un the cocaine manufacture. You can find small dilutions for LAB propourses but they arent cheap.

Thanks You @Gunther for your answer, it is about 30% more expensive buying 28% sles, it takes 2.5 more volumen to  tove shipped My country, i can’t afford that.

There must be a suitable pump, i’m buying sles from LG household and they are selling a Lot 70% drums, so i’m wonfering what kind of pump are ussing the industries, worm, gear, pistón pumps.

Im ussing 3% ctac and 3% cetyl/stearyl alcohol n 50:50 and works fine in a standard condiciones, i ussed pq7 and 1000cps dimethicone but i didnt notice any difference

@Pharma thanks you for allí the input, sulphuric Acid os forbbiden un my country, It is ussed for making cocaine so is banned, what about ussing hidroflourhydric Acid?, Is strongest and more reactive than phosphoric.

It is possible but you have one main problem, water! Esterification only works in anhydrous systems and HCl comes at <35% aqueous solutions. Trying to remove said water by evaporation will evaporate HCl first whilst chemical or adsorption strategies (such as anhydrous Epsom salt or molsieve) will turn HCl into a gas and then you’ve got to run. You may want to try phosphoric acid or acetic anhydride . In the latter case, you have to gently neutralise the excess acetic acid before solvent extraction or distillation.

Im thinking in use an aparatus like dean-stark water separator, but it would be awesome that i could use phosphoric acid, have you made an experimento ussing phosphoric?

talking about powder detergent, im ussing:

20% Methyl ether sulphonate
40% pulverized SOAP 
20% Sttp
10% sodium sulphate
0.5% CMC
Rest aditives, fragance, colorants, others.

The foam is very good, but soap tents to make scum and some times MES and SOAP are hard to dissolve,  does the Sodium sulphate in your formula its cappable to abdsorb your liquid labsa-sles-betaine with out making a cake ?

Hey @Gunther i have Made a 18% Labsa dishwash as sole surfactantes And i havent cloudiness issues, i’m fact above 16% the viscosity is very good, check And control the rise of temperature, And try without other Labsa suppliers

Thanks you matt, im already ussing a SS pump but i bouhgt that set of aluminnium pumps and they are just ocuppiying place in a corner of an office.  I want to use they.

15% isnt too much, i have used 18% labsa with naoh alone to get a viscosity similar to a famous brand in my country, and worked exccelent, it was clear and light yellow.

Today im ussing arround 8%, ussing sles / betaine to build viscosity.

I have found that mixing and avoiding the mixture to heat helps to get a lighter color and clearness

Right now im making 70%-80% glycerin from spent lye of soap synthesys and ussing it to make ethyleneglycol estearate/diestearare , in my country where is very diffcult to find any foreing currency its very profitable to make our own raw materials, in fact some times making our own raw materials is the only way to obtain they. i have bought Betaine from 5-6$/kilogram.

Indeed 99% of my little knowlwdge was adquired making trial and error, i have a degree in “oil-chemical proccess”, in fact in my country cosmetic-chemist degree doesnt exist and bassically there arenot cosmetic manufacturers, alll the products that are used here are imported, its a pain to find someone that barely understand cosmetic chemistry, our country its mainly oil/gas exporter, despite that i strongly belive that a chemestry background its a must.

The same way a doctor can say thar all hes knowledge was adquiered over the years, i will no feel confidence if a lawyer is going to make a surgery althought he claims that he has done it for 10 years or so.
