Use higher melt point waxes.
If you are using fatty alcohols…they also have melt points. Behenyl is the highest of the commonly used ones…. Sub it for other FA’s you might be using.

Matt, at the moment I only have Zen (Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6), and EZ 4U (Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer) . Are these acceptable replacements for the HASE polymers? In the past I kept Aristoflex AVC, but in my humid climate…I could not keep it in good shape…even with silica packets! 🙁
Any of them a particularly better choice than others under these circumstances (O/W emulsion).
BTW… Lotioncrafters never did end up with your Rapidgel EZ1.

I think I found one….that is trying to unseat the others. It is posing as a natural brand….and I just love the creative re-naming of polysorbate 60… OMG ???? … Yes…and all the other issues as well.

They took that creative approach…write out of the mfg’s creative description:
“Emulsifying Wax is a mixture of cetearyl alcohol and the polyethylene glycol sorbitan ester of stearic acid with an average of 20 repeating units of ethylene glycol.”

So….back to basics…you are defending a company that has purportedly emulsified their mess with cetyl alcohol and guar gum? This really makes you feel warm and fuzzy…and you think they are playing with a full deck? Clearly you are defending a company that does not place ingredients on the INCI that they feel their customers will not find….in vogue.
I find it amusing…that you would suggest to the career P&G guy….what you think P&G would do or think? Help me out….I’m a little stumped.

I was planning on it….then discovered the FDA only operates with last century technology. You can only phone them in. Since I have no phone….I could not complete the task. 🙁

Yes…in the short few years I have been in cosmetics…is seems to rapidly becoming something ‘Free From Intellect’, on the consumer end. I somewhat blame the ‘Big Boys’…for joining the band wagon…instead of standing their ground…and trying to educate. Placating the ignorant is never a ‘WIN’ for anyone….not even for the ignorant! 🙁
Sad to see a $300 billion dollar industry slide into …. _________ !

You mentioned Happi….so I registered…but for the life of me cannot figure out how to find formulas.
They have a section called the ‘Formulary’ ….but can’t seem to find a ‘search bar’ …. so call only scroll down the myriads of uninteresting formulas? Any guidance?

Maybe the lack of an emulsifier….which is usually the soaping cause…is the reason there is no soaping? ????
I would find it hard to believe a little fatty alcohol + GMS = A stable emulsion???

Well if the cool new ‘claim’ ingredients didn’t keep changing on a quarterly basis… It would be a little easier for the marketing types….to FOCUS. ????

Oh….they take a CUT…that is the whole concept…take a cut, pay yourself way WAY north of a reasonable wage… And laugh all the way to the bank.
Many of the clever con artists…don’t have the background to determine the difference between milk and water. Just have the ability to determine if your ‘donation’ was of appropriate size. ????

SS = Sucrose stearate / sucrose esters.
I guess I will work around the hydrocarbon, as I have many alternatives, and prefer my formulas to serve as frameworks for other formulas, where I can just drop about anything in. If I tailor it to the hydrocarbon, that means I would have to reformulate…on the next similar formula….and dang if I’m not lazy. 🙂
My initial thought is, I will just bump the Lauryl Laurate. What isn’t better, with more of that?
