I don’t know of any limit except for use during pregnancy but 3% is very high and unnecessary .You are likely to get adverse reactions such as stinging/redness and doubt you would pass RIPT safety test.We have used it up to 0.3% which is borderline for sting etc, although I have seen it used up to 0.5-1%.

You can do it at 5 with most carbomers but below 5 likely unstable in storage at 50C-I would use either XG or polyamide such as Simugel INS (Seppic) or both.

LAA to be effective has to be at 2to3 so yes you are right.we use xanthan gum with LAA

Yes Ph would be too high for LAA addition and If added will lowerPh and destabilize carbomer

Try changing to xanthan gum replacing HEC

never had a problem with formaldehyde re-leasers and never failed microbial challenge.

Yes but you need a preservative.You also need to neutralize the carbomer with a base usually triethanolamine (1:1 with carbomer).

Very interesting but not surprising or new as it appears to be a marketing twist on polymeric emulsification which I personally prefer to surfactants.

Carbomers and related compounds are an advancement in cosmetic science as they allow formulaters to do things otherwise not possible

I don’t see any problem replacing the CTAC with the ester quat and in fact should be better with di-tallow hyrophobes.I would request a sample from drum to make a lab batch and see how it is in your formula.

no chemical reaction but after neutralizing DG to 6-7 should be stable and if not buffer.
