If I may ask, how do you compare the cleaning of this natural against the syndets??? Anti-redeposition/anti-encrustation/whitening/low foam-high foam, these parameters are looked into or just sensitive skin tag???
Since I work with powders and liquids I was thinking if I can really push this concept to the customers in some cases but with all the necessary back-up????

Maybe some lower chain fatty acids like lauric and myristic, triethanolamine stearate soap won’t be all that lathery.

Please read the PDS of each ingredient to understand what is what, that said I am sure it would be better to seek professional help as the % of benzalkonium chloride speaks volume about your preps to g o ahead on this fun venture.

Opulyn is pc grade, try it by pre-dispersing in water. Avoid adding directly.

Think it is the silicone which would need a higher dosage of emulsifier, try one without the silicone or by reducing to 1/3rd.

GLDA is a more greener option and the biodegradability is much higher compared to EDTA. It helps in complexing the Ca ions off the bacterial cell wall and the preservative can easily penetrate. In detergents it is very important as it helps in chelating the scum and imprive the detergency of the surfactants.

The suspension properties of SF 1 & 2 are best exhibited at a pH of around 5 to 6, so it’s of little no use at all.

Phenyl Trimethicone comes to mind when shine is talked about, check if it can work in this emulsion for you.

Oops I never saw Aqua SF 1 mentioned in the thread, I am using Aqua SF1 myself and the next grade as well.

Why not just optimize the alkali rather than adding back the acid????

Wow that’s some result, did you change the supplier of these materials or they were all from the same supplier, I am assuming your procedure was IDENTICAL all the 4 times.

I have used Sekisui Ultalux FF and I can tell you that indeed it has a good cling effect on the face, not sure what happened to Kuraray as that was the first PVA i used.

I had color issues with pink only and that too was solved when my supplier (Neelikon from India) sent me another pink and it was rock solid. As the other members pointed out I suppose you need to contact at your fragrance house, 6% is a lot and with that 65% ethanol you should not need any solubilizer (again subject to the fragrance you are using). It is a very simple product which wouldn’t take more than a jiffy.

I recollect @Belassi mentioning the versatility of Glucamate VLT thickener for such systems, search this forum and I am sure you would have something valuable on your hand.

  • Since I have been making these gels for almost a very long time, I would guess fragrance, preservative or the aloe powder as @pma pointed out. The pH we maintain is around neutral and have had no problems so far re irritation. FYI we use Carbomer 940 in our formulations.

I have done some hair straighteners but to a very basic level as it was dropped eventually for reasons we all know, nothing better than Methylene Glycol (aqueous formaldehyde solution) but regulations won’t let you go beyond 0.2% maximum. During those trials we used to have silicones in formulations to claim thermal protection but that was it. Maybe the link below further gives away something.

Not sure of specifics though there are almost readymade solutions where you just need to add fragrance and preservative. Generally they are a blend of mild surfactants and emollients and one blend that I have used is from Dow Corning called CE0101 Wipes lotion. Another one is Beautyderm WW.

PEG-12 Dimethicone, chuck out the NP9 not very famous now. Add a normal solubilizer for your perfume, check the best ratio though for solubilizer/perfume.
