Posted by Sheng on June 22, 2016 at 2:34 am

    hello,

I am trying to formulate a Sulphate FREE intimate wash with an opaque white cream appearance.
I have used Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Tego Betaine HS and Euperlan PK 777.
But i cannot make the bulk viscous.
    below is the working formula:

    Water  qs to 100
    EDTA   0.1
    Corum 3510 28.0
    Tego Betaine HS 1.0
    Euperlan PK 777 5.0
    Diapon K SF 2.0
    Plantacare 2000UP 0.50
    HI FOAM 750 1.0
    Lactic acid  to pH 4.5
    Sodium Chloride 2.0

    any comments pls.

I cannot find any information on Euperlan PK 777, but Euperlan PK771 and Euperlan PK 710 both contain sulfates (sodium laureth sulfate) so you might want to check this first.

You don’t have any thickeners in there, that’s why. Try adding 2.5 to 3.5% Glucamate LT.

    Hello @Bellasi and @ozgirl,
i deleted Euperlan PK 771 due to its sulphate content. I have tried Glucamate DOE 120 since it is available in our lab. it works well also.
I am now trying to make the bulk opaque white. :)

    Got Quickpearl PK3 available?

if you want to make it opaque and white, try adding an opacifier like Acusol 301/Opulyn 301; it’ll make the bulk more uniformly white than a pearliser will

    Hi @Bill_Toge
Acusol 301 is for homecare, they did not indicate that it is for feminine wash.
    can i use it?
@Bellasi, Quickpearl PK3 imparts a pearlized effect, i want the bulk to be “lotion like”in appearance.

Add some CMC 1 % will make your batch viscous

Opulyn is pc grade, try it by pre-dispersing in water. Avoid adding directly.
