0.28*0.55=0.1540 ppm
If it is produced by microbes then it doesn’t kill them. Use something that kill microbes.
And use some EDTA too.

EntrepreneurApril 24, 2023 at 6:15 am in reply to: Honest reviews on the institute of personal care scienceThere are some of their tutorial videos in youtube. You can check them and see if you like their method.
But i always think they are advertising or selling specific Products on you or encourage you to buy from this supplier and not that supplier. This is my personal opinion about there videos that i have seen.
I would prefer courses from chemist corner over them.

What is your pH?
Do you also use some EDTA?
1500ppm is 0.15% so 0.28% dmdm hydantoin will give you almost that mach.
You will need an anti fungal too.
What is bio surfactant?

1. In emulsions to prevent creaming, we use water thickener like xanthan gum. Will it work here too?
2. By what mechanism will Sodium xylene sulfonate stabilize such formula? hydrotrope?
3. If as hydrotrope then according to this data, even CAPB is a better hydrotrope than Sodium xylene sulfonate. What are your thoughts on this?

EntrepreneurMay 8, 2023 at 6:56 pm in reply to: Is it ok to leave 100ppm hypochlorite in tank after sanitizationGood
I will not have standing water in it. I usually just spray hypochlorite inside the tank for 30 minutes and then rinse with process water.
For these tanks i want to spray hypochlorite, dont rinse it and let it dry there. Is this ok?
Tanks are metal but not SS. I don’t know the metal name in english but it is commonly used for water storage in houses.

EntrepreneurApril 29, 2023 at 1:52 am in reply to: Amphoacetate: glucoside ratio as cosurfactants for maximum deposition of activesI have made sample whith CAPB and another with replacing 50% of CAPB with APG and compared them. Samples had cationic guar and amodimethicone emulsion.
The sample with CAPB+APG had less conditioning effect than CAPB alone as co surfactant.
That is why this chart that shows amphoacetate+APG as co surfactant is better than amphoacetate alone was interesting to me.

EntrepreneurApril 25, 2023 at 7:31 pm in reply to: Amphoacetate: glucoside ratio as cosurfactants for maximum deposition of activesThanks
I didn’t know nacl reduces deposition and i was always trying to add more nacl because i thought the opposite it true.
I Will change all my formulas to use less nacl.
This chart is from supplier that is selling amphoacetate.
I was hoping if there is any synergy because amphoacetate is very expressive and glucoside inexpensive.
Some more questions
1. Will more nacl reduce the deposition of cationic guar from SLES/CAPB formula that doesn’t have silicone or any other lipophilic ingredient too?
2. How does deposition from sultaine compare to CAPB in same SLES/cosurfactant/cationic guar/amodimethicone formula?
I can purchase sultaine at almost the same price as CAPB if that is a good replacement.
-
I only add labor cost and 5% more.
I make batchs of 1000kgs. For that material cost + 0.04$ /kg is my total cost/kg.
My packages are 500ml so half of that cost+ 0.15$ packaging cost.
Then multiply that to 2.5-3 for different products and that is my wholesale price.
Or multiply it by 5 or 6 and that is my retail price.

So sodium benzoate is the best option among these three.
And what type of stability problem sorbate/DHA have?

EntrepreneurApril 19, 2023 at 9:53 am in reply to: Benzoic acid vs sorbic acid vs dehydroacetic acid vs salicylic acid antifungalI just wanted to know which preservative is stronger and how much difference is in strength.
There isn’t any pH limitation. The question about these preservatives is in acid form. For example sodium benzoate 0.3% at pH 4.18 and 1% at pH 4.95, both will have 1500ppm in acid form so what amount of sorbic acid or dehydroacetic acid in their acid form will have the same amount of power?
1500ppm or less in acid form?
As they have different pka, different amount of these will have 1500ppm in acid form at those ph. That is why i asked about the acid form, not actual amount.
