Amodimethicones deposit more selectively, and form a more even film on hair (covering more area and avoiding overdeposition). That is an upgrade in performance compared to non charged dimethicones. But that doesn’t mean you cannot have a well performing product using only a dimethicone (P&G in the past only used dimethicone, till the BA propyl dimethicone was developed for them, and kept as a patent for some years).

Is that mean that i cannot use BA dimethicone in my commerical products?

If you do not have the ability of testing inbound goods… I would be a little leery of the Chinese market.  One other alternative is to find out which ‘Chinese vendors’ the big boys are using…and try to piggyback on their quality and purity requirements.

…Butt diving blindly into the Chinese market….hmmmn!  😮

Could you tell how to find those suppliers? 

Do you have any experience sourcing supply from china? Hope you can answer couple questions that i am stuck with 😃

Hi no I haven’t but I have recently used Myskinrecipes based in Thailand and for my small quantities I wanted they were very reasonable even with the shipping cost. I think they also do larger sizes - you can put it in the Custom size (note weights are in grams not USA pounds). I find it easier with them to use their search tool as not always obvious where the product is as Cetyl Alcohol comes under their Cosmetics/Base/Additives etc. Anyway here is link if you want to view yourself. You can put what you want in the cart and prices will be in Thai Baht so you will need to convert that to USD so $1BHT is approx $0.028 USD so with your exchange rate you may find quite reasonable. With me the shipping cost was about the same price as the ingredients but as you are buying larger quantities not sure how that would work out. They give you a separate quote for shipping and you don’t have to ahead with purchase if you find shipping cost too much. Anyway good luck here is the link for Cetyl Alcohol so you can see.

There is no definitive rule. Usually, people use more stearyl alcohol than cetyl because it has a higher melting point so will be more stable under warm storage conditions. But every system is different. You just have to experiment & see what works for you

Wow, i never think about it. Always hear good things about the fatty alcohol. What percentage should i use for Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine and Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone? 

stearamidopropyl dimethylamine vs cetrimonium chloride Vs dimethicone vs amodimethicone. Which one should I use? And why?

Can i combine little bit of everything?
