    @Paprik Thank you.
    @MarkBroussard, correct. I have a private label base and I was wondering if adding menthol/camphor would cause stability issues.

    Dear Pattsi,
                      I really appreciated your response. I see this is from EU. Since this was an observation from FDA in U.S, do you know where to find this in CFR?
    Thank you!

    Thanks everyone! I didn’t know about Limonene issues. The intention is to incorporate a solvent to clean your hands and disinfect at the same time. Does anybody know a Limonene alternative to use?   Thank you!!

    I’m trying to emulate a good conditioner from the market which has Cocamidopropyl betaine on its label, but in a later trial I left the CAPB for Phase C, but the issue is noticed when I add the Phase B to Phase A. With the initial starting formula (Lonza) the mix thicken as soon I mix the phases, but with the new ingredients it just stay milky. The changes are Phase A: Phantenol 1%, Hydrolyzed Protein 1%. Then Phase B heated as well has Olive Oil 1%, Almond Oil 1%, Avocado Oil 1%. I will try adding more emulsifying wax. Thank you!!! Bill and Ozgirl.

    Hi! Bill,

               I should start my previous post with more details. The starting formula, which is
    Smooth & Protected Conditioner with Laraquat™ (Formulation #HC-38) fro Lonza worked perfect, then I tried to improve it adding Oils, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed proteins… After I made this post, changed my procedure and tried to add the betain in the cool down phase, but the issue show up again! This issue arise before Phase C. I’m suspecting that I’m using the wrong combination of emulsifiers. Here is the link of the initil formula which works fine.
    Probably I should add another emulsifying system.  Thanks! Javier

    Hi! David,

                    If you want to use an employment agency, Paul Gilmore from Sinerfac can find the best in Miami. I recommend this guy because he is very knowledgeable in Technical staff for pharma, he can find a good candidate for office activities and  industrial background.
    When the economy is down (no the case) Craiglist is free and you can find good people, but based on actual economic scenario for our industry, I highly recommend you to work with an agency, another examples;
    1) Aerotek
    2) Florida Unemployment database.

    Hi! Mihaela,
                      It is recommended to keep your records two years after the expiration date of your product. Everything mentioned in your question fall under GMP (Good manufacturing practices), usually it is more complex than that, but seems to me that you have a very good idea where to start. Check the following FDA link about this;
    http://www.fda.gov/downloads/Cosmetics/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/GuidanceDocuments/UCM358287.pdf

    If you need some help creating Batch records or any GMP related, let me know.

    Sodium benzoate is well regulated, in beverages max 300 mg max if Im not mistaken, now citric can be incorporated in larger quantities in food and beverages, now I think that the trigger here is the pH which usually is very low (2.8-4.5).

    I saw few labs selling a luxury body lotion 8 oz bottle for $ 3.5 /ea when you buy 500 as minimum. Im wondering which margins they have with that selling price. Any comment on this will be appreciated. Regards, Javier

    Hi! David,
                  The proper name for that is “Twist-off” Soft gel. Only few companies make this in USA, but this is your lucky day! One of them, probably one of the best is only 45′ from your facility.

    Swiss Caps USA, Inc 14193 SW 119th Avenue Miami, Florida, 33186

    Let me know if you need assistance about technical requirements. I have 10 years of experience in softgels.

    Good luck!

    Magnesium stearate is a lubricant.

    The main use of magnesium stearate is in the manufacture of tablet,
    capsule and powder supplements. It is added to formulations to improve
    the flow properties of the powder, this also helps to compress the
    tablet without sticking to the mold and machinery parts whilst improving
    clean down time. There are some alternatives and manufacturers know them. You should call them directly and ask that as your first question.

    I don’t know what you want to achieve avoiding this, but if you’re looking tablets, you may need some custom formulation depending of your product. In capsules, it is easier to replace it.

    Hi! My recommendation here;

    1) Take the position and accept the challenge. You will learn something for sure.
    2) Follow Bobzchemist’s recommendation. They want to hire you because they don’t know how to do it. But I agree with Bob, you will need someone to guide you.
    regards, Javier
