    Since it is used as a film forming as well, it should have the property to make the hair more shiny and glossy

    Try to apply it on a surface like plastic or paper (black and white) and see if the same thing happens.

    Regarding ingredients, usually you buy them according to a plan, and in this case a formula. So first, you should have a formula and than buy what you need.
    Regarding equipments, is basically the same thing.
    I appears to me that you don’t know the basics of what you are doing, which makes the hole process kind of dangerous. I’d suggest to learn first the basics and than start experimenting.

    For the salt, I added at 0.2g increments and eventually maxed out to 3% and it never got any thicker.” In that case 3% is not necessary. you should do the salt curve from 0.25 to 3% and check the viscosity peak.
    You may use a gelifying agent as well

    Cetyl Alcohol    -  HLB of 15.5
    Stearyl Alcohol  -  HLB of 15.5

    These are required HLB for those two fatty alcohols. You will need and emulsifier with that HLB value to emulsify each of those fatty alcohols.

    You are calculating the HLB value using required HLB value.
    You should remove the two fatty alcohols from your emulsifier system when calculating.

    I am meant to be running a profitable business, and that is 100% my responsibility. ”  - There are some rules to be followed. By doing a simple calibration will not shut down your business.

    It is very clear that you have made up your mind, so there is no point keeping this up.
    Good luck with your issue.

    Try HEC, it should work at low pH.

    In different stages of the manufacturing process time is verified or set (a specified interval of time is set) at the equipments that are used.
    If you are talking for well equipped industries, every machine or apparatus is connected to a system and time is monitored.
    If you keep bringing up excuses like this, we will end up saying nothing should be calibrated.

    “The answer is that it is just useful to know the RH. This does not mean we need to state ranges and do calibrations. “
    Of course it does. If you don’t have ranges, it means that you don’t need to know the RH.
    If you stated the same thing to the GMP representative than it is more than natural they asked for calibration by a licensed company.

    @mikethair, if you don’t have to control the RH, why do you have hygrothermometers in the first place? You should have only thermometers.

    @aperson there are many products that have RH in the storage condition.
    http://www.bsibusiness.com/uploads/product/pdf/330_pdf.pdf and it is very common for powders.
    Plus, why not have a good working environment for yourself and/or workers?

    You should at last use a mortar. Lanolin should work better.

    Ascorbic acid is as well pH sensitive, beside temperature, light sensitive, oxygen and heavy metals.
    You can neutralize ascorbic acid with NaHCO3 to a pH 5-6.5 and if you add some EDTA in your formulation it will increase the stability more.

    Ferulic acid is a similar case with ascorbic acid.

    You should check the motor power as well. Depending on the viscosity you are going to get with your projects, you should choose the right one. I’d suggest over 100W, probably 150W would be good.
    Regarding the speed, 2000 rpm should be enough.

    Nice re-formulation @Belassi
    Looking at the Plantaren APB composition, it should do a good job alone.

    April 23, 2018 at 6:30 am in reply to: How to prepare X% hydrogen peroxide solution from 33% H2O2 solution ?

    To prepare that 100g H2O2 2.5% solution:
    C1V1=C2V2
    33%*V1=2.5%*100
    V1= (2.5%*100)/33%
    V1= 7.58g H2O2 33%
    Ingredient X = 10 g
    Water = 100 - 7.58 - 10 = 82.42g
