I would suggest a chelant as well. Depending on the quality of your water you are using. Also, is the color fading or shifting? You are using essential oils as well that can change over time.

Pureact WS Conc-Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate would be a perfect surfactant for this type of application.

Possibly try Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate.
-
You can try using the Iselux SLC blend from Innospec. You can produce a nice product with upwards of 20% oils.
-
Sorry Mark. I just saw your post
-
Finsolv EMG-20 works well to dissolve Sal acid.

You will get the most foam out of Decyl Glucoside. It is also the easiest to use. It remains liquid at RT.
You will get some viscosity build for Lauryl Glucoside. It is more of a challenge to work with at times because it can become a thicker paste over time.
I have had good luck making a nice product using Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Glucosides and CAPB. -

Try using just SCI. Pureact I 78 C is SCI that some in a nice, small noodle shape that will melt at 50-60C.

What is your pH? It sounds like you are at the top of your salt curve.
-
The Iselux SFS does contain CAPB. The viscosity can be thickened by 2 ways. You can add salt or you can add additional betaine.

I prefer not to work with the powder unless you have to just because of dusting. I have used used the paste versions more often. I use Pureact WS (24% active) or Pureact WS Conc (30% active).
This material will give a a dense creamy lather.

This preservative combination will actually turn a clear system (no color) yellow over time. I have seen this time and again. If you can, I would try a different preservative system.
Also, I have seen where suppliers will “bleach” their SLS so that the material itself has less color.
If this bleach is not removed, it can remove your colorants as well.

I have a formula for a transparent foaming shower oil if you would like.

So far all other stability conditions (25, 45 and 5C) are all fine.
It is good to hear that this is not that unusual.
-
You can try Natrlquest E30 from Innospec. I have also used the DissolvineGL. It works well.
