Hi,

would appreciate to get comments on a recommendation of using Silver oxide as a preservative in formulating skin care products.I was told it is anti-bacterial, anti-fungus, dosage about 0.1 - 0.4% with wide pH 3-9 application. INCI name is water/Pentasodium Pentetate/Phytic acid/Silver Oxide. Any experience using this and what are your opinions, any limitations or things to know? many thanks

This isn’t the same - uses silver citrate - http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.co.uk/2010/09/tinosan-sdc-preservative-and-deodorant.html

Silver-based preservatives are often subject to discoloration with loss of efficacy over time with oxidation.
