I am going to make a lip balm or lipstick whose color relies on plant-derived pigments. I am open to any sort of plant stains, but I somehow find that most plant pigments are not going to dissolve in the formulation; moreover, if I try to chop up the dried plant and disperse its fine particles in my formulation, the color isn’t going to stay for long wear. When I apply it on my lips, the shade looks great at the moment but quickly fades away after 1.5 hours. I think it will be great if I can make the color stay reasonably longer. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve ? I want it badly to make a plant-colored lipstick with a dazzling hue that can last for at least 4 hours.
