Whatever amount you add, some of it will be in acid form and some in salt form. Only in acid form it will function as preservative.
Salt is more water soluble but not effective. Acid is effective but not water soluble more than 0.07%.
If you add even 0.6% and it all dissolved in water, it means they are all in salt form and not effective.

noted, so the ph of the product should be 4.0 or bit higher will be okay? bcoz under 4 will be to acidic for daily use

btw the coa doc of DA said usage rate from 0.1-0.6. 0.07 is away lower than the recommended. any reason why I should add lower from the recommendation?

dehydroacetic acid is only 0.07% water soluble. I don’t know how much effective it would be.

Powders often require preservatives.  Consider please that they take up moisture under humid conditions such as a humid bathroom.  In this, the greatest risk is fungal growth.  Micro quality of your materials is also important - esp. the clay.
Dynamics of pH will affect Nabenzoate efficacy and those are hard to anticipate.   Propyl parabens, chlorphenesin  might be some options, if needed.  Look at labels of similar products.

thank you very much Phil, sorry for my delay in reply because I  have issue to log in here.

As you said - chelator.  Would add EDTA to those options.
pH might drive greater levels of benzoate in nonsurfactant products but think the max are too much.

Phil, I used Phenoxhyetanol + Ehyhexylglycerin on my preservative system, yest I do add 0.4% of sodium benzoat on emulsion product, I do also use this preservative system on my water base product like toner. I have problem on using sodium benzoat on one of my formula because I use Vit E and C. what preservative is the best to boost the work of Phenoxhyetanol+ethyhexylglycerin?

the pH of the product is 4.4-4.9

Its soluble in glycerin and alcohol, using propanadiol just caused bubble in your end product.
I am more prefer to disolved in glycerin. My end product ph  is 4.5

    Hii Mark,

I read all your reply on this thread and I thank you for sharing your knowledges to us here.

Btw I wanted to ask about purity of Sodium phytate, there is 90% and 75% purity. these two different purities have the same % to be use as cheltor? 0,2%.

    Thank you in advance
