    Dear all,

    If i make powder products such as clay mask and herbs with rice powder as the base for scrub. should i add preservatives? if yes what is the best preservative for this kind of product. can i use sodium benzoat only? or i should add another powder form of preservatives? if yes can you recommend me which one?
    so far i got an information powder products dont need preservatives. 

    pls kindly help

    As long as it’s truly dry you do not need to do anything, clay, spices, herbs.
    Sodium benzoate is mostly used in liquid foods.

    Powders often require preservatives.  Consider please that they take up moisture under humid conditions such as a humid bathroom.  In this, the greatest risk is fungal growth.  Micro quality of your materials is also important - esp. the clay.
    Dynamics of pH will affect Nabenzoate efficacy and those are hard to anticipate.   Propyl parabens, chlorphenesin  might be some options, if needed.  Look at labels of similar products.
