should be easy to run via HPLC at Tsub zero and after three months at 38C to provide 2 year shelf life.

MemberJuly 4, 2017 at 8:30 pm in reply to: Clarity issue HPMC, Decyl glucoside and/or Cocamide DEAThe HPMC is a solid that has to be heated first to disperse/wet it in water but goes into solution when you shock the dispersion in an ice bath while cooling down (see Dow bulletin on Methocel).Usually best to make a 3% stock solution and preserve it if held longer than a day:liquid is easier to work with.
PEG 150 DS will go in hot particularly with surfactants upon heating to 70C.

The inulin is a prebiotic polysaccharide which is food for probiotics which in turn inhibit attachment of pathogens at least in the gut but doubtful it works on skin.Note there is no preservative in the formula! I would not trust the former mechanism in place of a functional preservative.

MemberJune 30, 2017 at 11:05 pm in reply to: Which co-emulsifier is better to use with Montanov 68 emulsifier?Septic does not use HLB because it is not neccasary.Note formulae have polymer SIMUGEL which negates need for HLB as most all polymers do i.e. Carbopols etc:however some still use HLB in combination.Personally we have found it unnessasy

You see different levels because 1-each base is different in composition 2-each product is fragranced to suite the demographics of the audience to which it is marketed as fragrance can make or break a product. We submit base to 2-3 fragrance companies with a product concept together with a set price in $/cwt of finished product. The level is set by the Fragrance co, based on the price/cwt of finished product you are willing to pay.

MemberJune 28, 2017 at 3:36 pm in reply to: Method Validation and Drug Stability TestingDo you have an analytical lab ? If not you need a contract analytical Lab who will instruct you:usually they want formula w/wo sunscreens and the actives you are using. Most labs here have the actives.Once method is validated you can run stability tests as per your regional guidelines (FDA).

With a small panel i.e. 6-10 testing preference of each product blind versus Brand Used Most Often (BUMO) usually gives good feedback. If one stands out you will really see it but keep it simple and do not mix price in before you get the best product.Focus group is good for that with coffee and donuts.

I like the use of the Sarcosinate as it should provide a tight soap-lather.Tea tree Oil as preservative I am extremely skeptical it would pass USP 51:Sea salt may be okay but I have not used it.I would add a chelate such as Na2 EDTA for any heavy metals present from sea water.

Glad to see people are still using time-tested parabens.I hesitated to recommend them but a good fit for your system.

Based on formula you show should be ok as sulffosuccinate will provide creamy lather. You just need a preservative (1percent phenoxyethanol). Also watch viscosity in storage as the sulfocuccinate can be thixotropic (viscosity increase with time)

MemberJune 25, 2017 at 4:26 pm in reply to: Need some advices on daily facial moisturizing cream formulationThe formula you post is a start. What is the final Ph? Plus before going into stability etc you will need a preservative.Since you intend this for use on sensitive skin suggest you use geoguard Ultra which will lower Ph to 5.
