Thnk You so much Belassi sir, would you please explain the need to adjust Ph around 5-6 and why not at 7 ?

Thanx a lot Belassi sir. But,  what I was asking is.. As CAPB is an amphoteric surfactant, when Ph is at 5-6, wont it be changed into a cationic Surfactant ? And if it will,  then it will counteract with Anionic SLES.  (As amphoterics changes characteristics according to Ph).
               ( if I m wrong then please pardon me, I am a Novice ).
For Cationic Conditioning, I am planning for Polyquat-7.

@Belassi sir.. you have recommended the Ph at 5-6. As cocamidopropyl Betain changes its electrical characteristics according to Ph, will this Ph of 5-6 cause it to change into a Cationic Surfactant ?
    Thanx

    Thnkx @Bil, @Belassi, @Bob..
As I was suggested by suppliers that the small quantity of BKC or Cetrimide will not affect the Solubility or other physical characteristics..
If I incorporate either of these two at 0.2% level then will it work ? Or should I search arround for another options ?
    Thanx

Thnx bob.. Would you please tell me what should be the optimum Ph of the liquid to get the best out of each ingredients.
Sir,  nonyl phenol ethoxylateis a nonionic means it must be a degreaser and must find use in Dishwashing liquids ?  I have been suggested to use it as an emulsifier.  Would you please guide me on this material ?  I am not getting much on the net.

Thnx ashish and David for this Invaluable Guudance.  As ballassi suggested me not to put  CDEA in the formulation as it is rather Expensive. But evenafter I add CDEA,  i still get the drying effect on my hands.  I would try PEG-7 GLYCERYL COCOATE or Polyquat 7 if it is locally available.
Though i am not going to use Dimethicone any longer as it makes the liquid cloudy,  I have been suggested to use Nonyl phenol Ethoxylate 9.5 mole to Emulsify the Dimethicone. Is this a right Nonionic to emulsify it?

Ameelyah… You need to increase the surfactant level atleast to 30% in order to keep it perform then need for the addition of salt will decrease thus less cloudy will be the solution.

Chemist77 this superare 425 is not available at my Location. But Silicones are available. In a patent, polyquaterniums are suggented. Can I use these when my formulation contains Anionic Surfactant ?

Greeting All, and sorry for replying late sir :)
My intention to use oils in the formualtion was to provide skin an added moisturising effect. As @ Bobzhemist suggest the usage level of oils at .01% , it requires some advance instruments to measure the suggested quantity if betch size is small.
If we dont put in oils at all and want to replace it with other conditioning ingredients, would U please suggest me any option..
2 ) what should be the optimum Ph of my Handwah ? Now it is @6.
Thanks all for your invaluable guidance.

@ belassi after completing formulation, my ph was at 6. Does ph have anything to do with Solubility of Oils ?
Second issue is as Bobschemist said to use oils at .01%, this quantity is very very low. Will it have any substantial effect on the output. As i am preparing 200 gm batch, how would i calculate .01 % of the total.

Belassi, sir CDEA definately moves thesalt curve to the left but i have put it in as it has been said to increase the foaming of surfctant. If i m incorrect then please guide me.
    Thank you all

Thank u so much sir for your suggestions. I forgot to take final ph. Actually, i use cocamide DEA in order to reduce the amount of CAPB used to increase the viscosity of the final product.
My question is what should be the maximum % quanyity of oils in the handwash formulation ? I will measure ph and then will come to you.
    Thanx again

@Chemicalmatt thnx for your insight. I am manufacturing Detergent cake and i have Studied as Sodium metasillicate also Lowers CMC Thus improves the overall surfactant performance.. And also foaming. Am i right ? Please correct me.

hello everyone, I got a recipe for Hand Senitizer based on carbomer which is listed below ;-

    water DI                    34.65 w/w
    carbomer                       .25
    ethanol                      65
    aminomethyl propanol     .10
as far as i could get it, I think this formula doesn’t include any surfactant. can someone make me clear why the formula lists Ethanol ?
    thanx in ahead of time.

Thanx perry and belassi and thebrain for solutions.. As far as i could understand is that formation of micelle is a positive thing to remove stains. Also there are some ingredients that reduce cmc and thus Improve the efficiency of surfactants ? Am i right sir ?
Hoping to get feedbacks.. Thanx again

  • Perry, harry’s cosmeticology 7th edition printed in 1982 is rated at 11176 INR.. Is that worth of investing this much sum ?
