You think you can try to dissolve that precipitate in water and see if it completely disperses or not. Should give you an idea what it could be.

Subjectively speaking, I had this divine feeling of washing myself ASAP after trying few of these oils in my lab to know the feel.

How acidic is the shampoo that you require such high amounts of alkalis to bring it to the acceptable pH level or is it a neutralising shampoo for some post keratin/acidic hair straightening treatment.

Dissolvine range from AKZO, specially Dissolvine GL 38 and Dissolvine 47S. Tetrasodium Glutamat Diacetate is the INCI name.

@Doreen after sincerely reading your post I am guessing Makeup2018 will stick to the laid rules. Next post will be by Makeup2050????

Let me guess, one of the components of your essential oils. Have seen it with dipentene paneling a top class heavy duty HDPE 10 gallon bottle.

wow sampling for you is a mammoth task then.

What’s the product here, I have seen similar issues with few formulation types specially in home care.

I have seen huge improvement @0.05%, you can request lowest MW variant as well which is Polyox WSR 205 aka PEG 45M.
I use Polyox WSR 301 and generally make a stock solution of 1% concentration.
PS: The slip properties are phenomenal and most shaving products has PEG 90M if you have noticed in the LOIs of many shaving products. -
Polyox WSR is the brand name, I am using Polyox WSR 301 and the slip it gives to the formulation is unmatchable. But that’s me, every technician has a different perspective for such enhancements. By the way it’s called PEG-90M if that strikes something very familiar.

@Belassi wish you could get hold of the Dow polymers, they are phenomenal even @0.05% in such applications. With and without gives a clear indication of apple and oranges.

Chelants and enzymes together is a big no, in fact you need to feed extra calcium in salt form to keep them active. Also the temperature is a very critical point to be considered. Ratio of nonionics to anionics will play a role too. Novozymes has good information for such systems.

Check your pH as well, have seen many times in lab lower pH enhancing the pearl effect.

Be leaving it in Arctic conditions. You need to elaborate more the term shelf life.

Don’t forget to homogenize the ZPTO, helps in suspension with the reduced particle size.

@Frin I gave up color cosmetics long back, wish I could chip in. But let me go back to my earlier records, think I had something similar but in stick form which was matched against non-transferable Sephora flat liner. Maybe you can modify that one to suit your needs.

Sad scenario, this is just absolute fear mongering based on whims and fancies.
