@Iaskedbetter - Thanks for this, that link was not working properly, but I managed to figure it out: http://www.ams.usda.gov/AMSv1.0/getfile?dDocName=STELDEV3004446

Well, I must confess that it was some sellers on UK Amazon who were making these claims.

I think you would be better off with distilled water. That is what I subscribe to, although some say deionized water is much better because even distilled water may contain organic residues.

Which is gentlest to the skin per unit of scent?Yes, I agree with Mark; Recently, I tried to boost a Channel No.5-type scent with palmarosa EO, I was wrong, it overpowered it and ruined the batch. EOs are brilliant at boosting, but one has to pick the right one to boost the scent otherwise, the scent won’t be noticed at all.

Volumizing mousse.Well, while I have witnessed the efficacy of West African “black soap” before (highly effective on eczema), I am yet to see any company make/create a COA or MSDS of any. So, I wonder how they managed to get a pass with that particular final product; perhaps they made one in-house.

Someone suggested coconut oil or a combination of coconut oil with sorbitol or xylitol.
Has anyone else tried or experimented with this? -

By foam, I meant large bubbles. I hope that helps.(Yes, @Belassi, I guess this is your specialty non-sulphate surfactants - what do you say?) -
I would suggest that you create samples with different ratios, that way you would soon hit the bullseye, otherwise no one can help you, just as @Iaskedbetter explained, there are many factors that are in play here.

I have access to buying: decyl glucoside, coco glucoside, and lauryl glucoside. -
@Belassi, don’t ever think you are wasting time and money on creativity, many others would think like that and never attempt it. So, you may be pioneering something there. Even if you discovered that someone else has done something similar, it means that “someone” has done some preparatory work for your market. So, go for it!

@Bobzchemist, Thanks.
@Belassi, yes (as @milliachemist noted) I was referring to the product in the container, I’m sorry for my poor description.I thought as much that there was a two-step process, so much so that I bought a cake-making tool to try the insertion process, just that I have not been bold enough to try itBut, I think your explanation as to the instability of the product is a very good insight for me as well. However, I think I have an idea of what to do to combat that if I am to undertake the project.

I would also like to say a BIG-FAT-and-BEAUTIFUL THANK YOU to the helpful experts (I think I learnt this from @Mark Broussard) on this forum, it was on this forum I learnt about Konjac root powder and was able to test it over the last weekend and found it brilliant!

@Bill_Toge‘s comments, I couldn’t agree more. -

You mean SLMW & ULMW would not penetrate?What about studies such as these:I am interested in your opinions. -
I would always stick my vote for guar gum, a little of it goes a long way! I have a large bag of xanthan gum and have lost interest, it has not impressed me one bit since I started using it.
But, as suggested in one of the threads here, why not try konjac?I am testing a combination of guar gum and konjac - if anyone has tried that before, what is your experience like? -
I think it became an obsession after over-ordered potassium sorbate and xylitol and not wanting them to waste.
I guess I should just let it go! -
I guess you want to unconsciously alienate some potential users.
There are vegan alternatives. You may want to consider plant stem cells. -
Actually, I am trying to create an alternative to this Ecocert preservative:
Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerine, Sorbic Acid, which is a broad spectrum. -
Thanks for the suggestions.

Btw, did you test the pH of that liquid soap? It is usally quite alkali; I know because that was where I started my soap-making process and it will irritate acne-prone skin.
I added seabuckthorn berry oil to my saponified soap and because of the irritation it can cause, I added citric acid and Cocodamipropyl betaine with lots of dilution, couldn’t be bothered with exactness (%) of the process and then xanthan gum. It gave me a balanced pH, but I won’t make liquid soap again.My suggestion, take Perry’s advice, start from scratch with your new ingredients.
