Heliofeel is available from Lucas Meyer Cosmetics. Generally their minimum orders are quite reasonable for small scale production. For smaller quantities, Trulux can be useful if you are willing to pay shipping from Australia.

Help with overcoming separation. There’s a paragraph on page 251 of the following book that discusses making ‘tacky syrup’ out of glycerol and a natural gum as a replacement for corn syrup to bind cereal bars. It suggests some gums are soluble enough in glycerol at high loading levels to ‘gel’ and form a the same consistency as high glucose corn syrup.
I would try displacing half the glycerin with acacia, heating and mixing those two first to see if it gels enough to hold your powdered supplement. If that didn’t work I might try adding just a touch of H20 to the acacia/glycerol phase and try to gel that way.

It is easy enough to begin prepping for formulation by making a stock solution. This is a fairly common albeit expensive acidulant in food and cosmetics.

Thanks @Perry so my understanding is minimalism is possible but only if the surfactants are the best available for foaming and cleansing.
If other factors are more important then more ingredients are needed to compensate for the lacking performance. Even then, it may be impossible to achieve the performance of the minimalist shampoo.

Hey @Pharma curious… do you think that sterol gelling thing is how Imlan makes this 3 ingredient cream with betulin?

p-anisic acid or sodium anisate may help but it’s prone to recrystallization so you have to be careful with it.

Assuming you have regular access to testers, I would try a batch like this and see if that solves the problem:
Water
Solagum Tara
Coconut Oil
Olyvoyl Emulsifier
Shea Butter
Floraesters K100
Vegelane
Soya LecithinThen I would add these back in 1 at a time getting feedback from the testers after each addition… (1) citric acid, (2) aloe vera, (3) lavender EO, (4) microcare sb.
Personally, I threw out my potassium sorbate because I get a flushing reaction anytime I included it in a preservative blend, even at minute levels.

From Ecocert documentation, olivoil emulsifier contains trace amounts of….
Potassium Sorbate @ 0,20% and Sodium Benzoate @ 0,10%This in combination with Microcare SB at the max recommended level will be a challenge for those with sensitive skin and may be pushing the limit of what the average population can handle too.

Curious… Are there studies to show how the preservatives in cosmetics interact with the microbiome of the skin?

Make a stable emulsion first add clay last. You’ll likely need to experiment with different emulsifiers and/or higher %.

Which mushroom polymers did you experiment with?

Curious what he’s charging for it. Reported rate is $1,400 per session north of the border.

Good suggestion @”Dr Catherine Pratt”
I get graininess with glyceryl stearate citrate if I rush the heating of the oil phase or if the water phase temp is too low when trying to form the emulsion.
Never noticed compatibility issues with betaine in a similar formula at pH 4.
-
Along these lines, does this mean zinc pca and phytic acid don’t belong in the same formula?
-
Not sure if this is any closer to passing your hygiene specs but along @belassi ‘s line of thought… millet hulls or hulls of another grain/legume if the texture of that is off?
