Yes it is very stable.
Just use %0.3 xanthan gum or some carbomer in water phase.
And it is also liquid crystal. -
Use HPMC instead of HEC.
Reduce decyl Glucoside to %1 or replace it with lauryl Glucoside.
%10 decyl Glucoside is very difficult to thicken -
High viscosity HPMC also works as thickner in Shampoo

@PhilGeis thanks
The upper limit for DMDM hydantoin is %0.6, so why warning above %0.05?Finished products containing DMDMH must be labeled with the
warning “contains formaldehyde” if the (free) formaldehydeconcentration exceeds 0.05% -
@Bill_Toge EDTA is also anionic and not compatible with cationic surfactants. So how does that effect PQ10?

EntrepreneurApril 27, 2021 at 12:09 pm in reply to: Suggestions on how to make this formula more moisturizing and less tacky@RedCoast i don’t think it was fume. The smell was lavender eo that i was adding. From just smelling the Product there was no problem but after applying it to face or hand i was felling something is not good and there was some tightness my chest. No irritation. Then When i was washing my hand or face after from the Product, the problem was solved.
I was adding EDTA at first and HCl at cool down. One day i decided to add it first at water face because it was powder not liquid,i first added EDTA then when i added HCl, a white powder like thing formed on top of water that was not soluble in water. Then i made another batch without EDTA and it was easily soluble in hot water. So i figured these two are not compatible. Then I made two batches separately one with EDTA and another preservative and one with HCl and both were amazing with no problem.
Then i checked it’s compatibility with each ingredient, it was not compatible with citric acid too.

It means those ingredients will not do what you want them to do and may be some other side effects.
I was once mixing EDTA vs Ethyl Lauroyl Arginate HCl which are incompatible in emulsions. The emulsions were stable but i was felling some shortness of breath when i was applying the lotion to my body. When i found that these two are incompatible, removing each of it made a beautiful emulsion without any problem.

It is %0.2 EDTA or %2 Sodium citrate.
I got the picture. As Just when the binding is very fast is the chelation time in seconds, minutes or what approximately? And also when when it takes a while, how much? -

Formalin is available locally and very inexpensive. I thought if i make a preservative system around that it would be great. -
SLI may not be water soluble like SCI.

EntrepreneurApril 23, 2021 at 12:46 am in reply to: Does EGMS & EGDS need suspending agent in this Shampoo?@chemicalmatt of course i want to maintain the pearlescence while sitting still on a store shelf.
I am using %9 SLES and%2 CAPB actives. Is that enough?
Is adding HPMC, PQ10 or cationic guar enough as suspending agent or not?

I don’t know how how are calculating the HLB for 4 emulsifiers in a system.
Use Steareth-21 and Steareth-2 as emulsifiers, calculate the HLB, total %2-4 emulsifier.
Use Cetyl Alcohol and Stearyl Alcohol as oil phase stabilizer and %0.3 xanthan gum as oil phase stabilizer. -
@PhilGeis do you mean use kathon at %0.05 or %0.5?
What percentage of sodium benzoate should be used with %0.05 kathon in this Shampoo formula?
SLES
CAPB
Glycol distearate %1
PQ10NACL
Tetrasodium EDTA %0.2

EntrepreneurApril 22, 2021 at 11:59 am in reply to: Amodimethicone emulsion for Shampoo instead of PQ10@klangridge hi
Thanks for sharing your opinions. My Shampoo is opaque. What is the difference between macroemulsion and microemulsions specially for Amodimethicone emulsion?
Currently i am using NACL to thicken the system. Is that enough for suspension of Amodimethicone in shampoo?
If not, would HPMC, cationic guar or PQ10 stabilize the suspension?

I want to use it for it’s conditioning effect.

Don’t use them and see what happens
