I would say go for pH 4 and never above pH 4.8

Your caprylyl glycol + 1,2 hexandiol and potassium sorbate will be a better option at that pH.

The problem with petrolatum is it makes your skin darker. I don’t think it causes acne.
I have some acne but not where i apply petrolatum.
Start from 5-10% and see what you like the most.

I think thapt guar+ pq7+ 2% amodimethicone emulsion is too much. You can reduce everything by half.
Can you write the details of your amodimethicone emulsion?

What is in the product?
Never mix with Tween 80.
Heating the product a bit or high shear mixer will accelerate dissolving.
You need something for gram+/y/m too.

I say that because at pH 4 potassium sorbate is better option than CHA in anyway and caprylyl glycol + 1,2 hexandiol is better than caprylyl glycol alone.
0.15% potassium sorbate at pH 4 is more powerful than 0.06% CHA
0.15% potassium sorbate is less expensive than 0.06% CHA

This preservative doesn’t work well in surfactant systems.
I would not use less than 1% in any case.

I don’t know about its biochemical explanation too but for use using it makes skin darker under the sun compared to applying nothing. Although applying nothing will make your skin burn faster.

Yes. Specially if you are in sun for some time during the day and apply it to face 1 or 2 time a day compared to applying nothing.
I am making a moisturizer with petrolatum as occlusive ingredient and 90% of users have noticed this effect on face.

At 1:1 ratio viscosity is on top as @chemicalmatt said. In my 3% of each surfactant will give you enough viscosity without any extra salt.
