Try to get at least 0.1% preservative in acid form by reducing pH, increasing quantity or adding another antifungal preservative too.

They applied some petrolatum on sides of nose, under eyes and lips too before applying the peel to prevent peel contact with those places.

The peel i have made, 3 women have used it as advised her. Wash the face with face wash, apply the peel one layer, rinse it after 20 minutes, use a moisturizer twice a day.
They used the peel by themselves but i was there to check if something happens and to advise them.
They said it is very tolerable, much more tolerable than bleaching your face as it is very common for women here to bleach their face by themselves.
One man with acne has used it as spot treatment on one of his acne. I don’t know it was papule vs pustule. It was tolerable. His that one acne dried and is about to be removed by it self now after 4 days. We are seeing what will happen.
safety and liability aside, how about effectiveness for acne as spot treatment? Just for my knowledge.

That is very interesting. In that case using salicylic acid may not have any advantage over sodium salicylate because of that two minutes window.
Can you share the data where have you read that?

What about 30% lactic acid at pH 2?
Is it also considered drug is it is cosmetic?

If you just leave it on, doesn’t it cause too much salicylic acid absorption?

1. How long should Modified” Jessner Solutions stay on skin?
One source said 1-2 minutes. Another said 4-5 minutes. Another said at least 4 hours. That is a big difference.
2. How often it should be used?
One source said weekly, one said every 10-14 days, one said once a month.

You have CAPB in formula and that makes these two compatible.
Xanthan is not more anionic than SLES.

In Modified” Jessner Solutions which has 17% salicylic acid, 17% lactic acid & 8% citric acid solids, what is the benefit and function of citric acid?
I mean what does citric acid do that salicylic & lactic acid can’t do?
