Waterbased Pomade
Hi there greetings, I have a few question to ask, does anyone knows how long does it take for cooling down period of the water based pomade until it is turn into solid? right after pouring it hot from the hot plate or double boiler into the can

It all depends on your ingredients, the temperature you heat them to, the temperature of the room… etc. The only way you’re going to know is to try it and see!

@David08848 well I have tried cool it down inside the refrigerator for 12 hours and it turn into solid. but when I take it out to let it temperature to increase into room temperature, it start to turn into liquid form again but a slightly little solid in it.
I tried it again with the same ingredients and same measurement and this time I did not put it in refrigerator but instead I let it cool under the room temperature itself, at first it doesn’t show any sign of turning into solid but when I let it be like that for 3 days; suddenly it turn into completely solid form and it texture is similar to famous brand in the market.
I want to know, why is this happen? does this have to do with oxydiation that it react to the ingredients in my pomade? does Glycerin and Propylene glycol inside the pomade that has been steep under dark room with open air for 3 days create this kind of chain reaction?

It would be best if you gave us a list of your ingredients for one of the other more experienced cosmetic chemists here to help you to determine which ingredient might need to be increased (or decreased). You don’t have to give percentages if you’re not comfortable doing that but you haven’t given enough information for anyone here to assist you.
