im currently working on a heavy hold low shine pomade

    yields 50g

    beeswax 20G
    microwax 4G
    coconut oil 4g
    petrolatum  20g
    essential oil 2g

I was wondering has anyone tried using lanolin versus petrolatum? I can’t seem to max the scent even if I increased the essential oils thanks!

As it is 4% of essential oil is inviting problems. Use a fragrance oil instead. Try Black Drak or Uomo Blue.

Thanks! I will switch to a fragrance oil! What’s the typical problem at 4% I head it would only be 1% but sometimes it can’t ask the smell of other ingredients

What’s the typical problem at 4%
    Allergic reactions and skin sensitisation
    Not to mention expensive

Hmm ok thanks. When I lower it the smell doesn’t pop out as much might be diluted a bit already

Frankly, this comment set off warning bells in my head. Be very careful who you source essential oils (and fragrance oils) from. There are unscrupulous people out there who dilute them. I have been caught out more than once, and on one occasion, one supplier warned me about another.

Thanks for that! I will find a new supplier I guess. Thanks!

    Currently re formulated to
    beeswax 60g
    microwax 60g
    petrolatum 90g
    lanolin 10g
    coco oil 45g
    Castor oil 15g
    fragrance oil at 2%

currently waiting feedback on using coco oil and castor oil

also playing with the beeswax vs micro wax ratio. Found out that micro wax if increased makes t a bit easier to spread out but has a tendency to loose that nice hold of beeswax.

    Planning to make it a
80g beeswax and 40g micro wax next or just go 85g then 35g?
