EpiOcular Test Material Question (OECD 492)
Dear fellow chemists,
Our regulatory has requested us to conduct EpiOcular tests on some of our shampoos to ensure low eye irritation. However none of the chemists has any experience in such tests, and our test supplier does not want to provide more information.
In some of the instructions the test article is a 20% dilution when the density is over 0.95g/ml, but some other instructions the test article has to be neat. When we consulted the testing lab, they wanted us to do both but it is an expensive test and we cannot afford to conduct both.
I am wondering if anyone on this forum who has experience in this test can tell me, if the shampoos in this test are tested in the neat form, or as a diluted solution to mimic the real usage situation?
