    Greeting all!

I was reading somewhere that Amodimethicone doesn’t cause build up because it repels other positively charged amine based materials. If this is the case, would it not be wise to use both Amodimethicone and Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine in the same formula (conditioner)? Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that cationic surfactants (like SAPDMA) are small molecules that diffuse better and mainly deposit by electrostátic interactions. Amodimethicone on the other hand is still a large molecule whose main deposition mechanism is hydrophobic -related. So they shouldn’t compete.

Great explanation as usual! Thank you so much!
