I would include cationics from the beginning.
Below is a start up formulation from Innospec.

     A Cetearyl Alcohol Laurex® CS (Innospec) 63.5
    A
Behentrimonium Methosulfate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol BTMS 225KC (Chemtec) 25.0
    A
Behentrimonium Chloride BTAC 228KC (Chemtec) 5.0
    B
Butyrospermum Parkii Butter Shea Butter 2.0
    B
Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter Cocoa Butter 2.0
    C
    Propoxytetramethyl Piperidinyl Dimethicone Dimethisil® HNH-LV (Innospec) 1.5
    C
    Fragrance Daisy Chain (IFF) 1.0

    1. Add Cetearyl Alcohol to main vessel and begin heating to 65°C.
    2. Once melted, begin moderate mixing.
    3. Slowly add BTMS 225KC and BTAC 228KC while maintaining the temperature at 65°C.
    4. Begin melting Phase B in a separate vessel and heat to 65°C.
    5. Once melted and at temperature, add to Phase A. Mix until homogenous.
    6. Remove from heat and add the Dimethisil® HNH-LV and fragrance.
    7. Mix until completely homogenous and then pour into molds.

You need a cationic surfactant like BTMS to make a solid conditioner.
I agree, cationic surfactants are not natural, but they are necessary. Not having a cationic conditioner in your formula is the equivalent of trying to condition your hair with lotion.

Nutra M uses alcohol, you can see the ingredient list in the picture of the back of the label.

@Paprik Good question. I had the same experience, so frustrating! Could silica gel packet help?

how about Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate? But my recommendation is to make something similar to Dr. Bronner’s sugar wash. I have mild eczema, and it is the mildest hand wash I ever tried!

I would try mixing essential oils and fragrances.

Unfortunately you need fragrances for the smell to spread, essential oils do not spread.
    https://woodenwick.com/blogs/news/pros-cons-of-essential-oils-for-candle-making

THE CONS: WHAT ARE THE DOWNSIDES OF USING ESSENTIAL OILS IN CANDLE MAKING?

    • Little to no hot throw. Ok, hate to be the bearer of bad news here and we know we just said that they are highly fragrant, but if you plan to use 100% essential oils for your candle fragrance you may end up with a less than subtle hot throw.

    • Many essential oils degrade when exposed to the higher temperatures reached when burning a candle which is why not much scent is diffused, resulting in a disappointing hot throw.

    • Having tested thousands of candles, this is something we have experienced firsthand as well as some essential oils giving off a funky scent while burning.

    • Essential oils are expensive. If you plan to use 100% essential oils to fragrance your candles, plan to be in the higher price range as they are not cheap!

I have some experience making soy candles scented with essential oils. I have not encountered any stability problem. In relation to fragrances a much higher concentration of essential oils is usually needed and may exceed the wax manufacturers additive recommendations which is based on fragrance. If you are having problems, you may want to consult the wax manufacturer.

@Stanley, I recently ran across this company located in Riverside.

    Cibaria International, Inc https://cibaria-intl.com/

I never tried their products, but they are trying to expand into personal care.
You have to register to get pricing.

Unfortunately, you cannot buy Everclear 190 in California, it is also illegal in some other states.

I usually use refined and deodorized cocoa butter because of the strong scent.
Not sure if the refine version of the cupuacu butter smells less, contact your suppliers.

When make a purchase, I have value considerations in this order: ingredients, cost, container esthetics.
Regarding container size: How quickly will I use this product? My bathroom counters are already cluttered!

If I was going to try a new brand, I would be more likely to buy a small container because of the total cost. I also find small containers to be very appealing (cute), especially glass jars.

I would buy a larger container, if I knew the brand, and felt it was a better value….
For example, I buy 32 oz lotion containers because I like this brand, it is a better value than their smaller 12 oz, and because I go through them in 3-4 months.

@Margaret, Dove is a syndet, you are correct it does contain soap. I read somewhere that it was to prevent the bar from becoming mushy.  The stearic acid is the moisturizing ( cream ) ingredient.

If you do a search on fat burning gel on Amazon, you will find a variety of creams/gels sold with this marketing. You can also find a variety of food supplements with the same marketing.
@Unclesid, the fat burning effect of this gel is imaginary. But if you still want to make one, you are correct you need to reduce the oils that are liquid at room temperature. Eucalyptus oil at 10% and menthol at 7% could cause some unpleasant skin irritation..

Overall your formula appears fine. There are many different formulations out there. You need to start testing to adjust the texture of the bar. La bonne nouvelle est que si votre bar is too soft you can always melt it and add more dry ingredients like SCI to increase rigidity.  ;)

@ Ketchito, thank you for the explanation. I am in the US, so I have to stick with 3%. The challenge is that when you use a conditioner bar you end using significantly less product in comparison to a regular liquid conditioner as much as 10% less.

NDA has some INCI: Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract (and) Glycerin.
It is marketed as a preservative, but it only contains glycerin.

February 6, 2022 at 4:06 pm in reply to: Why are there preservatives in soap that’s made with goat milk?

@PhilGeis, why do the majority of soaps on the market do not contain any preservatives?
It appears that this bacteria has been isolated from hypersaline Ekho Lake (Vestfold Hills, East Antarctica). https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12148619/

Is it because some soaps are made with soap noodles and the manufacturer added sea salt or another ingredient that was contaminated?

If you make your soap from scratch,  and all ingredients are exposed to NaOH would that sterilize all ingredients and not require preservatives?

No, you do not need preservatives to make goat milk soap. Normally you use goat milk powder, the fat in the milk is saponified.  You can also substitute some of the water for fresh goat milk. The high PH 9-10 of the soap guards from microbes. Not sure why they have DMDM Hydantoin in there, it is usually used at a ph range of 3-8 in a water based cosmetic.

In this situation, I agree with you. If this D5 does not behave like a normal D5, it is suspect. Could they have added something in the mixture to increase the flash point? The only way to know is to sent it to the lab….
The D5 description below is very specific.
