    @Perry
Will it alter the pH or the performance in anyway if added the keratin now? Kindly advise on improvement techniques to achieve the slippery feel and the detangling without glitches. Thanks 🙏🏼😊

Using coconut oil, castor oil, palm kernel oil and a small amount of waxes and jojoba oil, gave me a lovely batch of cp soap. However, I do not have the facility to make the soap base from scratch. That is why am looking for alternate solutions

Btw, adding a wee bit of stearic acid to the melted base did help with hardening the bar. Happy to share my experience and finding🙏🏼😊

Thanks a lot Syl🙏🏼❤😊 I entirely agree with you that if I had to make the base myself, I have total control over the quality. However, I was curious to know if there are methods to achieve the best TFM, with readymade base. I read  somewhere that we could add stearic acid to the base to get the requisite hardness. Likewise, I was wondering if there is any way to improve the tfm, by adding myristic acid or similar. Please have a good laugh aloud if it sounds ignorant 😄but please clarify whether possible. Thanks🙏🏼😊

Thanks PhilGeis. 😊 I have been sourcing from the same vendor since 2018. Iam not sure if they check the TFM. However, when I searched the net for vendors that mention the TFM, I could find a few that said soap base with 40%-60% tfm. What then makes me think is whether there is any additive that can help. 😊

About the BTMS 50 was for the fishy odor.

could the consistency issue be due to stearic acid and guar gum?

    D/w 67.6%
    Glycerin 1.5%
    Aloe gel 1.5%
    Xanthum gum - q.s

Stearic acid and glycol stearate 4%
    BTMS 50 -0.92%
    Grapeseed oil+ Argan oil+ Sweet almond oil - 2%

    Dimethicone - 1.5%
    Cetrimonium chloride - 1.5%
    M paraben - 0.80%
    fragrance - 0.50%
    citric acid - 0.10%

    Hi all!

If I converted the above sans xanthan gum, as suggested in the string above, what could I add to the formulation to make it non greasy? Your valuable inputs will be helpful. Thanks :)

@Gunther Thanks a lot for the knowledge share :) . I will replace cetrimide with cetrimonium chloride or behentrimonium salt.

@Gunther My supplier is a reseller. I asked for cetrimonium chloride and the label reads ‘cetrimide’. Since I have a fatal passion for cosmetic formulation, I am trying my hand at it. Otherwise I am a lawyer and a finance professional. :)  and so I am having to trust my supplier with what he gives.? Thanks so much for the knowledge you have shared.

The oils I read could balance off the impact of SLES on the hair. Same with aloe. Again aloe extract is what I get. It was by mistake I had mentioned gel. Thanks sgain.

@ngarayeva001 Thanks for the response. My search for alternatives is triggered by the headache I had after I tried the new batch. I have posted the formula in ‘Hair’ section herein. Will be happy if someone could help me see the error in formulation if any. Many thanks.
