Welcome back @vitalys! Hopefully, we can get some of the conversations that were here before back. But the forum will continue with all new discussions.

Welcome aboard @Heisenberg! Love the gif in your signature line

According to this Cetrimide BP is soluble in water 20g / 100mL so there shouldn’t be a problem with dissolving it in water.
I do not exactly understand your question. What specifically do you want to know? -
100g is a rather small size batch. You might have more luck if you were using 400g batches. They fit well into a 500 mL beaker and you get good mixing.

Color me skeptical too. Whenever I hear about new treatments like this I remember the following facts about what can happen after you use a treatment.
1. Your condition can get better2. Your condition can get worse3. Your condition does not changeUnfortunately, the same three things are true whether you use a treatment or not. There is no evidence that swishing oil in your mouth ever day will have much effect on anything. -
Actually, we’re making some progress on that!

@milliachemist - right. I just wonder what level has to be added for a consumer to notice a difference in the performance of the product. When will a consumer definitely see a difference, at 1%, 0.5%, 0.1%, or 0%?
From a formulators standpoint you should use the lowest level of an ingredient in which you get a consumer perceptible difference.

What is it effective at doing?
-
You could also try reducing the amount that you use. Is the allantoin having a noticeable effect in the performance of your product?
-
I’m not sure what you mean as “didn’t last as long”. What happened to the product? Was it microbial contamination? That is a likely explanation. One source produced the glycerin under proper conditions and the other didn’t.

What type of personal care product are you talking about? Dow Corning certainly has defoamers that can be used in personal care products. Try the Xiameter products.
-
You’re right, Cetearyl Alcohol is another way you could list it.
-
If the formula has water you can try adding a Dimethicone Copolyol.
-
Actually, I don’t think Cetostearyl Alcohol is in the INCI Dictionary (I couldn’t find it) so the only proper way to list the ingredient is as Cetyl Alcohol and Stearyl Alcohol.

Thanks! Now, if I could just get the old discussions back…still working…
-
I fixed it!

Thanks! I’ll look into the problem.
