I have tried it but it didnt remove all the makeups. A cleansing agent will be good in makeup removers to remove all makeups, or so I thought? Plus when I shake it (to mix the water and oil phase), glittery-like stuff appears. I’ll upload a picture when I make one again. I just run out of raw materials.

There’s an ingredient to remove waterproof makeups. I’ve read it somewhere in an article. I forgot its name. It’s in the tip of my tongue and is giving me headache. Haha

Oh I forgot, I’m using a surfactant/cleansing agent because my benchmark has a surfactant but it is the end of the ingredients list, so it has the least %, that is why I came up with that % of surfactant. My benchmark dont have a colorant and fragrance.

@Belassi How about I use Citric Acid to lower the pH? Also, will Phenoxyethanol will work as a preservative alone?

Really? I didnt know TSF 405 foams. Any alternative to the “oil phase”. Before, I used dimethicones but the feeling is warm when applied. So Ive come up with this.

That is why I check first the publishing date of the book. Nowadays, people publish their formulas online. Try searching a guide formula for your hair shampoo. Also, try adding an active ingredient (like anti-dandruff, for smooth hair etc)

  • @twinklyx let me get this straight. So you put half of your work at the incubator (accelerated stability testing) and half at room temp. The one inside the incubator fails.

This is what you call a stability testing. Now you know that your product is not suitable over room temp. This is why in some products you will see “do not store above room temp” or “store away from direct sunlight” etc.

Also, how do you know that your product is only stable at 9mos?

I agree with @Perry. There’s a natural betaine (TEGO Natural Betaine). You can use it as your surfactant.

Don’t just google them. Make a time to personally visit their place and see if they have certificates etc.

@zaidjeber try adding alpha-arbutin for more whitening power. For the oiliness, I dont know what causes it. Maybe there’s too much moisturizer instead of your active ingredients.

Serum should be composed of many many active ingredients. That is why serum costs a bit high compared to normal creams and moisturizers. Well that is what I know. I could be wrong. @Belassi @Doreen81

Please be specific in the types (if in need of non-anionic or not, etc.) cause this formula is just a guide. And did you just omit the silicone? They have a reason why they put it the formulation.

Yes you can. If they are powder in appearance, you should mix them first with water until they are fully hydrated. If you use wax or pellet or liquid type, mix them with your oil phase (with heating). This is how I deal with emulsifiers.

@Perry @em88 I know but our marketing wants it transparent. I havent seen a facial cream that is transparent. But I guess our marketing dept. wants it unique. We want the cream to moisturize the skin. A gel-like texture that when rubbed becomes watery.

@Rebelgreaser66 where do you put your mixture?

You should use a solubilizer like PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil or PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate instead of heating. Both are available worldwide so no excuse.
