Thank you for answering me. I must ask with this expectation of the food industry is it a good idea to ask about irradiation of the food to ensure a good TPC count of a vendor? To beat a dead horse more…Is having a TPC count under 200 cfu/g considered “ok” or does it have to be totally under 100 cfu/g?

Thank you for the info. Just another question, so the rice starch is just a more pure form of the rice. This would be concentrated. Are there any tests to prove the rice starch potency? Would this be needed in a finished product?
Would too much starch burn the hair or be considered an overload of active?

ScientistJuly 5, 2023 at 7:30 pm in reply to: How would one go about creating a “mousse” or “souffle” textured emulsion?⁉️Hello! How successful were you at achieving the mousse project? I am trying to do the same thing but having issues with the texture or creating the foam for the mousse. What did you do??

Thank you so much! I have been round and round with the food manufacturer. They think its normal for starches to have these counts and are alright to use. I told them cosmetics do not have those standards. So how do you source “food type” raw materials? This is not the first time I have heard food suppliers wanting pass off food specs. for cosmetics….

Thank you Gentlemen. I am assume the glycols are what is diffusing the foam? I am following a vendor formula. They were much help.

Thank you again. If you don’t mind I have a few more questions…. I have watched the view. I know I have to do this with Glycerin and water (absolutely no EtOh). I was going to take my leaves and slow cook for 6 hours in a water bath. I don’t believe I will have time to grind the leaves into powder as suggested in the video. Afterwards I was going to let contents strain over cheese cloth. I know the used a cottonball and coffee filters. I was even going to try a use an Erlenmeyer flask with a side arm and vacuum to help pull the contents to strain faster. I hope this makes sense. Are these acceptable?
I am trying to find the “cone” she is using to hold the powder and drip. Where can I get one of these?

I have experienced it. However eventually you will hobbyist or DIY folks come here quoting CHAT GPT as the gospel without thinking about everything that went into answering their question.

I have contacted 2 cosmetic suppliers and they are telling they don’t have any supplies that could give me a TPC better than ~9000 cfu… Is this normal going into a cosmetic?

Thank you for answering me. DHA is dihydroxyacetone. Must use a non ionic surfactant like decyl glucoside. I am having problems producing a “whipped”like foam. I keep getting a “chunky” foam that goes flat quickly.

Goodness thank you for this information. I am being asked to create this ” glycerin/water tincture” in 4-5 separate herbs. I normally do straight skin care formulation so this is out of my normal scope. I have looked at several videos and you tube. I was wondering if it should try to do each herb separated or do 1:1 all together. Sounds like I should make an extraction for each herb than put them together. I have the understanding on what to do in the videos I just don’t know what would be the best pathway to get get started. I know I have lemon leaves as apart of the 4 herbs. Since lemon is perceived to be strong ..should I make a 1: 1.5 extraction and put this portion in as 1:1? If you know any helpful videos that would be very nice…

Thank you! I am in the United States on the west coast. is there a website for lab auctions or to notify when business are closing. I have looked on Ebay and the selection right now is good.

thank you for replying. I am in the USA. I am looking to replace the shaft/rod that would go inside of a overhead mixer. I am looking at 1″ to 2″ marine style propeller that would fit a 600 mL to 1000mL beaker for mixing. Most places I have worked already had these as apart of the lab so I am not sure where they were ordered from. I hope this helps…

Cool thanks! They look the same and I remember working with similar ovens previous but never thought they were incubator.
