I have seen this as well and my opinion again is simply formulation,  percentages , etc.  SA is perfectly safe if formulated and used correctly.

There is alot of conflicting information on here as well.  There can be scientific  studies /experiments,  etc,  however it still comes down to other factors and one scientist says one thing and you find another says the opposite when your researching these ingredients.  The same with HA and the debate regarding the weight LMHA and HMHA.  Its all over the place and inconsistent info from what I have been researching from chemist to scientist. So its just frustrating.. . I hope everyone enjoys there holiday and thank all of you for your time.

@Doreen I completely understand and if i took things out of content I apologize.  It just seemed to me as though I was being treated as though I knew nothing and did not do my own reserch and experiments.  Again if that was not the intention,  I am very sorry!  It just gets very frustrating when your trying to work with something knew and you research conflicting info and I waste ALOT of product experimenting and you just ask for some different  input and get alot of othet stuff that doesnt help with issue at hand.  I completely understand this comes with the  world of cosmetic formulating,  however there is alot of chemistry,  science,  and other factors that play huge rolls and not just knowing ingredients. So again my apologies If i took it wrong! Thank you for trying to help I really do appreciate it.

Unless you have changed to DOREEN,  I dont beleive that comment applied to you so maybe you should of read carefully!  I was not impolite.  As i stated in my post SOME like 2 people actually provided useful info.  I did not ask for SA 101!  I have actually received the simplified information that  i was looking for Via a helpful e-mail and i do not ask for anyone to give me “exact mount” and AGAIN i had been performing tests and researching.  It was a simple question.  You must have  missed the part where i said out of all the jibber jabber posted MOST not all was even necessary. Doreen made a post because thats what this sight is  for.  Please only comment helpful information.  Your long winded speaches with zero knowledge and feedback does not help the person looking for assistance.  Again I have gotten what I need so all other posts here  are irrelevant. I was looking for a 2% SA but its ok i can do the math from here and ty.  Wouldpropylene glycol be the better solvent as from what i have seen its a sronger solvent however i know it becomes VERY sticky in high %

Lol @Doreen actually all cosmetic formulating should be left for expert. You become a expert from experience,  knowledge,  and practice.  You do not need a degree to do a peel!!

@Doreen All of that info is zero to do with my post.  Anyone can get that info anywhere and only an IDIOT would make a asprin for a peel.  I am not just somekne who tries ro use aloe juice and honey for a face mask and keep it on my counter or in the fridge and think in a week i can reuse it.  I have plently of formulating experience and knowledge.  I could have gotten that info on youtube.  I am not just someone who sits at home and makes things out of my kitchen cupboard.  There are thousands of ingredients in the cosmetic world and I am very well educated on the ones I have chosen to use and plan to use HINTS the purpose for  this post.  I am not just relying on the answers i get in this post THANK GOD!  The 2 ingredients in this post AS STATED I am just starting to familiarize myselfe with BY CHOICE!  I was hoping for a useful answer from someone with experience with these 2 ingredients.  I also have the data sheets on all 16 different  solvents used to solubilize SA.  I was just asking for some input… .Thanks anyway.

I dont need a lecture from anyone.  I have done plenty of my research on what i work with I asked a simple question for some insight while I am doing my own research.  I didnt ask anyone for there smart remarks in which whom know nothing  about my formulating background or practices. I was not aware that some people on here just want to make someone look stupid.  Some of these comments  are common sence and really do not show that your much more educated on the ingredient than myselfe or you would provide some real helpful answers not just state the obvious. Thank you m88 for your input minus your un needed remark.

I am looking to make a toner orleave on solution and peel at later time.  The sticky is what im trying to avoid which is what PG causes.  So basically im looking for someone who knows how to work with SA i guess would be the better question and also using POLY in aqueous formulations.  I have not used POLY before i have steered away from it but i have some now and am just looking for some helpful info and wondered if that would help with the SA

I am very comfotable with lotions,  conditioners,  serums,  and other formulations this is not my first one.  I have all the equipment that i need and i am aware of all safety and sterilization procedures.  Iam looking for an answer to my question thats all i need.  Thanks

Are shampoos always formulated with  the surfactants being in heated phase? Also do you think 20% lf the blen and 15% of the CAPB would work well for the surfactant phase?
