Thank you @EVchem, I will try knock out batches again. Now I am suspecting the preservative Euxyl K903. SFE 839 INCI is [Cyclopentasiloxane (and) Dimethicone (and) Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer]. In one of my formulations, discoloration happens in just 1 day at 50C.

It’s the betaine - it’s a tertiary amine and is prone to discoloration.

I have used betaine before and I didn’t have a problem with it. Do you think it reacts with another raw material I used?

I shared the “open letter” to my FB account. Hopefully some of my colleagues notice it. I am also in a difficult situation as I work in a RM distribution company. I share the same sentiments. The sales team have marketing strategies which I am strongly against with but I can’t do anything about it since I’m basically in the rank & file position. Although I’ve voiced out my opinions many times. I will take note of the do’s and don’ts I’ve learned from this post. Thank you very much!

In Papaya, for example, I want to extract the papain and vitamin C. I know that these two are water-soluble. However, I want to use propylene glycol as solvent as it is I have easier access to it’s procurement than other solvents. Using water is more prone microbial growth. I appreciate your inputs.
