Professional Chemist / FormulatorFebruary 26, 2019 at 8:25 pm in reply to: Baking soda lead to a soap???@Gunther actually the reaction did not need high pression or longer time and baking soda is stronger then TEA wich is already able to make soap.

Professional Chemist / FormulatorFebruary 26, 2019 at 7:36 pm in reply to: Baking soda lead to a soap???update:
After one day of making baking soda soap you will obtain solid soap near to soduim hydroxyde one however the foam is too low comparing to other type of soaps using same level of oils and same level of super fat . -

Professional Chemist / FormulatorFebruary 26, 2019 at 9:43 am in reply to: Improve texture/aesthetics@Oladoo Almost butter will work however not true that shea butter easily rancid cause as almost butter it is too rich of saturated acid (stearic acid) wich is not easily rancid. Other solution you can use esterified beewax as cerabellina that give creamy product instead waxy one .

Professional Chemist / FormulatorFebruary 26, 2019 at 9:03 am in reply to: Beeswax (without borax)@em88 why you need to calculate the amount of surfactant?(and actualy it is not difficult to know it just you need to know the amount of free acid) if to know the amount of emulsifier .for beewx the amount used is usually near to normal emulsifier and same even for other soap.

Professional Chemist / FormulatorFebruary 25, 2019 at 11:47 am in reply to: Triethanolamine soap hlb?@ngarayeva001 actually trolamine stearate has in head both positive charge of Amine and negative one of stearate so may we can call it amphoteric molecule and you habe right about we can not use the ordinary hlb formulation to calculate it cause the formulation as you said for no ionic emulsifier so in ionic we talk i think about hld ( hydropbil lipophil difference … i will read more about it)
Then in opposit of you trolamine stearate give better texure did not surprise me cause moving from saturated acid to a soap will get more “creamy textutre”. -

Professional Chemist / FormulatorFebruary 25, 2019 at 10:33 am in reply to: Beeswax (without borax)@em88 you have right , however i want to discover potassuim and trolamine beewax can make a good cream. I can make a try and see my problem is to find the hlb of potassium and trolamine beewaxate for borax it is found in bibliography near to 10 ( cause used to emulsify paraffin liquid ) however i can no find any information a bout trolamine and potassuim in bibliography.

Professional Chemist / FormulatorFebruary 25, 2019 at 8:25 am in reply to: Beeswax (without borax)@em88 actually for sure high ph is a problem for a cream , then did weak slat of potassuim lead to a soap?

Professional Chemist / FormulatorFebruary 24, 2019 at 9:05 am in reply to: Beeswax (without borax)@ngarayeva001 if we talk according to science stearic acid is acid cetearyl alcohol is alcohol however potassuim-beewax is a kind of soap where free acid of wax react in basic solution to give soap so by science soap have the capacity of emusifier( with having both hydrophil part and lipophil part)
So to be more precise in my question is potassuim-beewax a good emulsifier cause actually it is for sure emulsifier why it can be bad ? may the end ph of potassuim-beewax ( verry soft soap) can be slightly basic .(i see in the net,a cream product using potassuim beewax the product seems great and according to maker very stable so just i’am curious if it gives acceptable ph?) -
