Professional Chemist / FormulatorOctober 6, 2021 at 4:55 pm in reply to: How do I increase Foaming of a mousse@Emanuela More active surfactants more foam generally.
-
@Lva it is normal because you used very low level of surfactants them easier thing increase the level of sulfonic acid and the adequate amount of caustic soda.
-
@Perry same suspect I guess that the problem from isopropyl alcohol because osmosed water can’t make that however the degree of Alcohol is 99,9% then it is diluted so can less then 0,1 % do that??!
And what can be the precipitation?!!
Any way thanks for your guess. -

Professional Chemist / FormulatorFebruary 5, 2021 at 10:56 am in reply to: HELP!!! my hand wash formulation still foaming after rinse@Wanhebat a lot of correction can be done, reducing the level of DEA is the most effective solution for your formulation then no need to use both glycerin and monopolylene glycol , use just one with low level.

Professional Chemist / FormulatorDecember 10, 2020 at 2:46 pm in reply to: Air freshener formulation@singhc10 thanks for the feedback, so adding alcohol can solve the problem but it increases the cost and even decrease the longevity of perfume for that I gone with no alcoholic product, for solubilizer peg 40 is not the best what I use I guess is better and there is no rule for solubilizer perfume Evry perfume has specific value, so for my solubilizer in some perfume just 1:1 ratio can lead to transperent product so the perfume is totally dissolved.

Professional Chemist / FormulatorDecember 9, 2020 at 10:28 am in reply to: lotion viscosity dropping@Shams may this information will help you, so lamesoft PO65 is mild tensio actif not as you said (superfatting agent), about your problem my suspect going to Sodium PCA because it is electrolyte an may it broke the viscosity made by ultrez so here is some idea I guess your product can be fine without the Sodium PCA unless you can change the ultrez by something not electrolyte sensitive as cellulose gum, xanthan gum…
Last thing the level of use of cetearyl alcohol seems high just decrease it I guess it will give better result. -

Professional Chemist / FormulatorDecember 9, 2020 at 10:06 am in reply to: Carbomer 940 compatibility with SLS in shampoo@Hamaadali008 you can use carbomer for that but it needs expertise because carbomer is very sensitive with electrolyte so you need to know the adequat amount for each ingredient to do the job, however SLS is ingredient easy to thick with other ingredients as slat.

Professional Chemist / FormulatorDecember 9, 2020 at 9:50 am in reply to: How do you work out the amount of emusifier?@Paprik Many things to tell you may help:
The cetyl Alcohol is fatty alcohol not emulsifier.
Soaping effect is normal effect of using emulsifiers so I think many things can help to reduce it depends on the best solution for you : you can reduce the amount of emulsifier, adding amount of Ethanol, using more low hlb emulsifier.
About ratio the best thing is making some sample even in low quantity to see the result because there is no best ratio for all systems as you already said. -
