Water treatment for shampoo
I make shampoo for business and this is the formula.
Sles-1kgCocomido diethanol amine-200g
Capb-100g
Water-20ltrsGlycerine-500ml
Salt-1kgColor and perfume-aqsPh=4.5
I don’t add any preservative I keep the pH acidic,after two months the odour of the product changed.the available water in my area is spring water is the one I use.how can I treat it and if am to use chlorine I don’t know the percentage.I need help for my product to last for three months. -

1. Don’t use spring water or tap water, use distilled water.
2. There are a 100 different preservatives to choose from. Do some research and find one that works for you.

The change in odour is due to bacterial contamination. You need to add a preservative to your product. Note - the product will have significant levels of bacterial contamination before you notice a change in odour so you cannot rely on a change in odour to detect bacterial contamination.Treating the water will not really help with your problem as your bacterial contamination is likely to be coming from multiple sources.Using distilled or deionised water is recommended but you really do need to add a suitable preservative.
