MemberAugust 24, 2017 at 2:22 pm in reply to: Remedies For stability problems of emulsionsNow after seeing photo, you have phase separation and if batch is already made-take sample 400 grams to lab and heat up to emulsification temperature—-split in two after reaching temp—to 1/2 add 0.2% ULTREZ 10 and cool to about 50 add 0.2% Triethanolamine-to second half at emulsification temperature add 0.5% Simugel INS 100 cool down no neutralization needed homogenize both and save a control untreated and test at 50C for 1-2 weeks. https://www.ulprospector.com/documents/1174263.pdf?bs=1432&b=65720&st=1&r=na&ind=personalcare

Try Belle Aire Fragrances for Orderone sample which chelates many odors.

MemberAugust 23, 2017 at 2:47 pm in reply to: Remedies For stability problems of emulsionsYou can add 0.1% Ultrez 10 to water phase and neutralize with 0.1% TEA after forming emulsion.it will add to viscosity but you are already at about 100K should not be too viscous and add to spreadability. test at 50C weekly for 4 weeks for stability.

MemberAugust 22, 2017 at 3:16 pm in reply to: Remedies For stability problems of emulsionsyou describe syneresis or perhaps an unstable emulsion:if the latter is true you may need polymeric emulsifier. What is Ph and viscosity of cream?

That is why product Liability insurance exists and is so expensive graduating in cost/yr depending upon sales and product exposure.
-
can you define odor chemically ie mercaptan-isovaleric acid as in body odors etc?How is it in final product and what is product cream lotion-serum?
-
Best to look for a wax with equivalent functionality which does not have malodor.

What is the ingredient?

I don’t think a chelating shampoo with claims regarding build up of Ca and Mg salts from hard water would be a good marketing story as it would be difficult to show a consumer benefit.May help with soap based products which are passé as non soap surfactants do not deposit lime soaps on hair.

Try 1-2percent propanediol for clarity and Ph 7—7.5 should be fine.

The problem is the cocoyl isethionate. You can replace it with a lauroyl sarcosinate. And in so doing improve texture with similar foaming and mildness.

I don’t know where you are but we are in NJ and invite people/clients to the lab for personal introduction.Throughout the development process we have milestone meetings and discussions. The number varies according to clients location and wishes,

While the concentrations of 1,4-dioxane in the samples all fell within mainland China’s limit of 30 parts per million, seven shampoos exceeded the European Union’s ceiling of 10ppm. -

MemberAugust 13, 2017 at 8:48 pm in reply to: Buffer system for urea in a product with ph 8If you have soap in formula, you do not need a buffer as the former is a good buffer:you are at PH 8 so you should have some free fatty acid which is even better.

Both have equivalent Redox potentials versus ROS on equimolar basis.Vegatable oils have low levels of both expressed in mg/KG so for antioxidant efficacy in an anhydrous hair product add 1% d alpha Tocopherol (BIOCHEMICA) to the oils you currently use.
-
I am reading antioxidant efficacy in formula? VE for oil antioxidant use .05-.! % in which case isomer used becomes less important.

Regarding our cosmetic science profession,”counterfeiters exist only because there is real gold”. We have to separate the real/valid gold from fools gold:it is that way in most all of life.

We had good results using 5% VE with mixed isomers —All involved patients were seen over an eight-week period, during which they were required to supplement their current acne regimen with topically applied vitamin E [tocopherol 5% (alpha 11.4%][delta 15%][gamma/beta 45%) in sunflower seed oil]. The supplemented regimen was applied once per day over an eight-week period. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4756869/

That has to be completely false info!

KAHLWAX 6684 -You only need a small amount as it is very dark brown ie less than 5%.
