Ph is low so Carbopol did not work, It kicked out.. And when I increased the level of fatty alcohol it killedddd viscosity.

Hi all, no one seemed to answer my question. Anyone have experience with Lab color readings?

MemberMay 23, 2014 at 11:14 am in reply to: Why does my anhydrous product have two layers. So, i made the formula pulling out each raw in question. At RT they all are stable so far, but again its only been a day so too soon to judge. Lets see how they do on stability. Also, is there nothing to be added to the formula to help emulsify whatever is kicking out?

Lol. You asked me to emulsify what an i told you. I am trying to emulsify oils. I am not trying to be difficult here but i literally answered what you asked. Sorry if you feel I am making it difficult which I def am not trying to. I appreciate this forum and all the input you and others provide and what you are doing here. So, if there is more info you want ask for me to be specific and i will do so from the get go. Though, I will keep in mind to provide details to begin with!
Now thank you for asking for more info. I can provide you with what i have. I am working with hydrocarbons, fatty compunds: triglycerides, fatter esters. Silicone: polyphenyl siloxane. Varying Mineral Oils, Water in oil emulsion. Cold process is not necessary as I do heat up to 65.
Hope this helps. let me know what other kind of information you are looking for.

Currently I am making the product on the bench. Initially its liquid. Doesn’t solidify until 35 degrees and below. THe product mixes all the way to 25 and not much shear goes into it.

what would you recommend to use for high silicone and oils in an anhydrous system to prevent the oils from kicking out? A palmade product
