Hats off to you Sir.

@Bobzchemist that means I can get rid of my thickening polymer to build the viscosity say in a sulfate free preparation and if I need suspension properties then I would require an yield value. And for that I would need a polymer, am I correct in my assessment?

You can probably follow the link posted by MakinSkincare, should help you a good deal.
@MakinSkincare I tried to pull up info on Antisol and the closest I got was to a polyanionic cellulose used in industrial applications but nothing for personal care. BTW its a Dow material. -

I tried BASF lab prototype sample of styling cream (cream and gel in one) and it felt great on hair. -
I mean use this Carbopol Aqua SF 1 which is Acrylates Copolymer but Carbopol 940/941/980/981 etc are carbomers if you check the INCI description. But basically with polyacrylic acid backbone.
-
Just use either of the 2, I would prefer carbopol though. But dont forget to try the aculyn as well.
-
nasrins its a 30% active matter so u wud hv approx 1.2% active overall. And yes u can hv suspension of sugar beads, maybe u need to optimize a little but m sure u can get it right in few trials only.
-
Check Carbomer Aqua SF1 (Acrylates Copolymer), it has back acid thickening feature as well which helps in maintaining the viscosity once you start neutralizing with the carboxylic acid. You have to try at 4% to check the suspension, other polymers that could be of use is HPMC. But i hv not used HPMC till yet, for me Aculyn 22 and Carbopol Aqua Sf 1 have done wonderfully well in formulations.
I sent you a link re the suspension and you have to see the yield value of every polymer and in the list carbomer holds out best. But still u can try other polymers for your own knowledge and experience.
Given the formula u hv mentioned I m sure Carbomer Aqua SF 1 or aculyn 22 would work out well for u, but preferably carbopol aqua sf 1 -
Which carbomer u hv used, not every carbomer goes with SLES???? Secondly use either of the polymer, u dont need 2 polymers in one formula. I have a similar formula with a good yield value but I have used Aculyn 22 only, in another formula I have used Carbomer (for surfactant systems) and hv been able to suspend pearl particles successfully.

These are based on amino acids, give wonderful gelling to oils and can be used to modify the viscosities too. Just check with Ajino if they would work when there is glycerol in the formula.

Since I still feel that something is missing from the info u hv given above u shud eliminate those, one at a time which u think can pose incompatibility problems in the recipe and with major ingredient of your formula.

Re the boron nitride I am big zero as i never used it extensively, so I hope other learned mentors can enlighten us -

MemberMay 22, 2014 at 5:34 am in reply to: what’s different between HLB valu and required HLB ?Not I am not mocking you, I simply overlooked the fact that one is an experimental value and the other is theoritical. And by taking into account these theoritical values we arrive at experimental values which I suppose sound more realistic.
Appreciate the praise though.Cheers

You arrive at the required HLB by doing some mathematical calculations and taking into consideration the individual HLB values of the oil phase of the non-ionic emulsion.Does it make any sense to you????? -

MemberMay 22, 2014 at 4:52 am in reply to: what’s different between HLB valu and required HLB ?Required HLB value is calculated by taking into consideration the individual HLB values of the oil phase components of a non-ionic emulsion. Check the sites below how the calculations are done. It helps you in choosing the best emulsifier for your non-ionic emulsion.

I think then you should check with your supplier and ask him if it is safe for baby products. They should send you the data sheet and CoA, decide accordingly.
