maybe it’s more like a vehicular component, selection is based on un-saturation I suppose to have something like non-comedogenic especially for an anti-acne product.
Just a passing thought, though. -
Are we there yet?????????????

And it gives a much better feel to the skin indeed, very old and trusted product, Varisoft.

Anyway glycerin can be avoided here as it is a foam suppressant and brings the viscosity down and this has been repeated by many learned chemists here, in fact in a very recent discussion by @chemicalmatt and I would take his word pretty much seriously.
-
have seen it in PVA based peel off masks as well, but there it becomes viscosity modifier. Or not????

@ ozgirl thanks a lot to highlight a pretty basic point that I missed out, shoulda known from the name MICROEMULSION itself and to produce it you would need surfactants and to do it in the best possible way a combo of ethoxylated alcohols was chosen I suppose.
tnx again -
Check with CLR and Mibelle as well, they might (not very sure) have something.
-
Thank you so much for this great insight.
-
Have a good one.

Not sure as I have never really tried Fixate but what you can do is heat the polymer separately and maybe to a lower temperature to avoid that cross linking. And rest of the phase B remains as is.
It’s all about optimizing and I am sure you could do that with a few little adjustments of street smart kind.cheers and good luck -
Check this link, maybe the ester oil can be done away with to bring in transparency. Also the glitter won’t be your requirement I suppose, this should give you some lead hopefully.

1) Either replace saturated fatty acids with some unsaturated ones and check how they come out e.g. potassium oleate gives good lathering.
2) Or get a surfactant which works optimum at an alkaline pH around which a potassium stearate/myristate soap would generally be stable. As generally we see in shampoos (sulfate based) that they work good at acidic pH I think that if you get some surfactant which performs well in alkaline conditions, you might get some lead. I hope I am correct in my approach here.3) Last but not the least, someone chips in a better suggestion.
Cheers

MemberSeptember 22, 2014 at 1:13 am in reply to: Cocamidopropyl Betaine and Sodium Cocoyl GlycinateI never saw NaOH coming but yes this is a life of amphoteric, ‘when in Rome, do as Romans do’. It changes on account of pH, cationic in acidic and anionic in alkaline and hence better thickening in presence of salt.

MemberSeptember 21, 2014 at 2:52 pm in reply to: Cocamidopropyl Betaine and Sodium Cocoyl GlycinateI would definitely wait for a reply from a senior mentor here, though my two pence worth would be charge on micelles which is fluctuating with pH and hence the viscosity variation. And of course which also affects their packing whether it would be spherical or cylindrical at a given pH and concentration.
The other part too is again about micelles which become highly charged at equivalent concentrations and you need salt to ‘pacify’ them and allow the cylindrical packing to have a compact packing as opposed to loose packing.
Hope someone has a better explanation if this sounds less than 2 pence.cheers

And how do you propose to handle the beeswax or just suspend it in the carbomer slurry?????
Carbopol has a yield value (a resistance to flow), I am not sure if this is the right polymer for your spray. -
whoa that’s some pretty CRYSTAL clear insight given by you.
-
Thanks Perry, it was rather the case as stated by you.
Cheers

@Perry I have read somewhere that the numbering is related to the source as well, is that correct?????????

Though I am sure Bobz suggestion might work great as well for your specific need. -
How about optimizing the increase of both the polymer and waxes, strike a balance and I am sure you can reach there.
