What kind of packaging youare looking for? 1 litre PET bottles or 10 Litre / 25 litre Carboys?

The Type of end user user will also affect the kind of formulation you need.
If canteens or foodcourts then a much cheaper version is required. If intended for home use then another type of formulation is required.

    Thank you.

NaOH (strong alkaline) is used to neutralize the acidity of LABSA….after mixing LABSA and NaOH (caustic soda) measure the pH it shoul be neutral (around 7)…

Now later when you add the other ingredients the pH will change again….adjust your pH at the end of the mixing process….if it is alkaline (pH above 7) then add citric acid to bring pH down to 7….if it is acidic (pH beloe 7) then add moderate amount of NaOH.
    Try it.

    Good day to you.

Your LABSA percentage is 8.5% but the NAOH (caustic soda 50) percentage is just 1.13%….so your Sulphonic Acid (LABSA) is not neutralized fully, as the caustic soda percentage is low….leading to an acidic mixture where your dye (or colourant) can’t handle very low pH ( 3 to 4 pH acid).

So i suggest you increase the NaOH percentage to 2.26% that is 22.6 g in your 1 litre dishwash….reduce some water to balance up the percentages.

good luck and let me know if it solves the problem.

    hi.
i found it….mix Sodium Sulfate with water first and then add it to the mix slowly.
    That is all it took.
    Thank you for your feedback.

  • Hi.

Chemist77, i need to increase the viscosity because the local market for economic dishwash liquid requires it. The customers are requesting a dishwash liquid that is LUMPY and DARKER in colour.

Belassi, clarity is not an issue. The requirement as i mentioned above is a heavily viscous liquid.
    Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback. I need some clarifications:
    Chemist77, Dr.Bob.

    1. Do you mean by SCS Sodium Coconut Sulfate?

    2. I found out that SLS Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is the equivalent to SCS. Can it be used as Hydrotrope?

    3. How about SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) can it replace the Sodium Coconut Sulfate? It is readily available and cheap.

    Thank you in advance.

Chemist77, replacing Sodium Sulfate with STPP will not be cost effective. The price of STPP is 4.5 times higher.

Above is a picture of the final product with Sodium Sulfate crystal pieces clearly showing up.
By the way this is a paste product, not powder nor liquid.

    Hi Chemist77,

Glycerin is used as an emollient.
I will try your suggestion of replacing Sodium Sulfate with STPP and i will give you a feedback on that.
    Thank you.
