Almond oil / shea butter / kpnangan butter etc etc in the formula?
-
I wish all companies were as easy to deal with as BASF.

Filtration does not remove the salts. Useless.
-
Well your formula looks just fine, be careful to use the same sources all the time or at least match the % solids.

I have a lot of different surfactants and in my experience there’s only one in liquid form that doesn’t come at pH 5 - 6 and that’s because it is a pure carboxylic acid and requires neutralisation. And all the ammonium types require to be acidic because if not, you’ll get ammonia being released. If you can find Texapon KD SO3 instead of SLeS I think you will be amazed.

Normal.
-
Not in my experience. But we have no idea where you are or which of their factors you’re dealing with.

I’ve been testing with Hyalurosmooth for a while, in a gel at 3%. Not impressed.

More or less. The oil produces glycerin as part of the saponification reaction. The acid doesn’t; the acid reacts a lot faster.
-
the oil is in the form of triglycerides whereas the acid is not.

Small scales are very cheap, there is no reason not to use one and every reason why you should.
-
Absolutely. Do not use tap water.

^^^ The above. I had all sorts of mad failures in formulation early on because I failed to realise that there were different grades.

I’ve never had any problem with potassium sorbate provided the shelf life is not more than about 4 months, otherwise it tends to yellow. I prefer sodium benzoate.
You’re trying to fix the symptoms rather than the cause of the sensation. It is because your thickening technique is short-flow without the expensive thickener.
If you can obtain Stepan surfactants I believe they have a salt-thickening sulphate-free one. -
There is a lot of previous information on this if you search the forum.

triclosan is an environmental poison. I’m sorry but it appears to me that you don’t have sufficient knowledge or experience to be making a potentially dangerous product.
