It is also possible to make shampoo without polymer or xanthan gum, clear grade of guar conditioner also imparts thickening properties. This would be a kind of neutralizing shampoo which would get in Hair relaxer kit.

I think, most of the branded hair colours never instructed to wash with shampoo immediate after application. All are giving conditioner along with colour and developer.

With use of Ultrez range from Lubrizol, will give you clarity even at low pH. Lubrizol is having Acrylate crosspolymers which work smartly at low pH also but need very keen attention during processing.
-
But, after application of hair colour, better to use conditioner to close scale. Due to usage of shampoo, color fades early.

You will get pearliness on second day or instant if you use 2 to 3% of acrylate copolymer but for light weight cream, need to reduce % of glycerin. To reduce soapy effect due to sodium stearate, dimethicone can be added, if required.

Rather than making hair growth oil, water based serum is the best option to go for as water penetrates more deeply than oil. Most of the synthetic hair growth actives are water soluble which is a extra advantage of it. None of the oil would give hair growth and moreover now a days, most of the people avoid usage of hair oil.

Using carbopol like Ultrez 20 is best suspending agent for Mica particles. Specific gravity of Mica particles is also playing imp. role here.
-
How much it’s pH? Manufacturing process? and conc. of Tocopherol acetate?
-
SLS is more harsher than SLES. One can replace SLS wholly by SLES and pearliser means EGDS or Mica or anything else? If it is EGDS, then it also imparts fatty odour along with CMEA.

I do agree with @johnb, better to use Propylene glycol as it is more volatile than glycerin and this volatility helps to dry your peel off more quickly. Which kind of thickener did u use in ur formula? if u wish to share……
-
Dear Danial, This formula is emulsion based due to Cetereth-25 which will never form transparent pomade. Which kind of appearance do you want in your end product?

also faced same problem but it is totally depend on process of usage of EGDS in
batch. When I tried to heat EGDS with 30% of SLES of the total qty. of SLES in
batch, it imparted more pearliness than regular one. -
You can enhance your product with Hydrogel technology by using ingredients suggested by Bobz i.e.from United guardian.

There are various grades of PVA available in market which you can try. You can also replace Glycerin by Propylene glycol which is more volatile. Instead of using Solagum better to use Gellan gum. U can also try PEG 1500.

-
Why don’t you try other solubiliser like Croduret or Caprylyl glucoside or Heptyl glucoside and here, SLES and Salt ratio need to maintain which is one of the cause of clouding.

MemberDecember 1, 2016 at 7:55 am in reply to: I’d pull out my hair, but then there would be none left to shampoo….LOLCaprylyl glucoside act as a solubilizesr as well as surfactant, u can increase qty. of it to solubilize oil content in ur formula instead of adding Polysorbate 80. But, better way to reduce or eliminate oils. Other ecocert conditioners are available with many of the suppliers rather than oils. Another point to mention here that conc. of guar gum which is too high as this formula looks like a conditioner.
-
Moreover Boric acid/Borax is a carcinogenic as per CMR so that can’t be used in personal care products.

Aqua SF 1 will form turbid gel below 6.
