Span= sorbitan monoalkyl ( oleate/stearate/etc) more high number more olephilic

You need span ( sorbitan mono laurate/olerate/palmitate/or stearate) just try to combine to get best emulsion

sufactant means surface active agent need to reduce surface tension of solvent
for ability for cleaning its depend on HLB proportion, low HLB will much likely love oil and emulsify it into solvent (in this case are water), and strip your natural skin oil

more non polar tail on surfactan will act more agresive it solubilize your oil
more easily Polar head ionize show how many of surfactant will active in sytem (and this depend on pH and you polar head anionic, cationic, amphoteric or non ionic on your surfactant)

base in this you can choose what surfactant that harsh/ iritant or “more safe based on your formulation pH

example: if i coose Sodium (head) lauryl( tail) sulphate (anionic) it will more alot surfactan active  at base (>7)pH since on whole head already in soluble form, and you make it more mild in slightly acid pH because at acidic state surfactan anionic not all in active form

Just buy non calorie sweetener tablet for your trial, grinding them with you pigment and vaselin with triroller mixer

There is alot alternative sweetener like sucralose, steviol, aspartame and saccharin or alcohol sugar like xylitol, manitol or sorbitol for light sweet taste

Cationic side, yes by ionic interaction, but hydrophobic side, build up with another hydrophobic side van der walls interaction, and collection another hydrophobic part , make you hair seem slightly tacky, just try with lower concentration amodimethicone you will feel what i mean

I just add 0.2-0.5 if its full amodimethicone , or up to 2 % if its emulsion with active 30%,  its always cause build up onhair, but most annoying if its build up on your head skin

You need to refresh your hair each week with sles shampoo, without any silicone in their ingredient to remove build up
