It is %0.2 EDTA or %2 Sodium citrate.
I got the picture. As Just when the binding is very fast is the chelation time in seconds, minutes or what approximately? And also when when it takes a while, how much? -

Formalin is available locally and very inexpensive. I thought if i make a preservative system around that it would be great. -
SLI may not be water soluble like SCI.

EntrepreneurApril 23, 2021 at 12:46 am in reply to: Does EGMS & EGDS need suspending agent in this Shampoo?@chemicalmatt of course i want to maintain the pearlescence while sitting still on a store shelf.
I am using %9 SLES and%2 CAPB actives. Is that enough?
Is adding HPMC, PQ10 or cationic guar enough as suspending agent or not?

I don’t know how how are calculating the HLB for 4 emulsifiers in a system.
Use Steareth-21 and Steareth-2 as emulsifiers, calculate the HLB, total %2-4 emulsifier.
Use Cetyl Alcohol and Stearyl Alcohol as oil phase stabilizer and %0.3 xanthan gum as oil phase stabilizer. -
@PhilGeis do you mean use kathon at %0.05 or %0.5?
What percentage of sodium benzoate should be used with %0.05 kathon in this Shampoo formula?
SLES
CAPB
Glycol distearate %1
PQ10NACL
Tetrasodium EDTA %0.2
pH 5 -

EntrepreneurApril 22, 2021 at 11:59 am in reply to: Amodimethicone emulsion for Shampoo instead of PQ10@klangridge hi
Thanks for sharing your opinions. My Shampoo is opaque. What is the difference between macroemulsion and microemulsions specially for Amodimethicone emulsion?
Currently i am using NACL to thicken the system. Is that enough for suspension of Amodimethicone in shampoo?
If not, would HPMC, cationic guar or PQ10 stabilize the suspension?

EntrepreneurApril 22, 2021 at 12:47 am in reply to: Amodimethicone emulsion for Shampoo instead of PQ10@ngarayeva001 would it increase the viscosity or decrease it?
I want to use it for it’s conditioning effect.

Don’t use them and see what happens
-
What is the shampoo formula?
-
@RedCoast was it %2 glycerin in cleaning product or in the Product that is used after cleaning? Like lotion or cream

EntrepreneurApril 21, 2021 at 1:29 am in reply to: Which of these two Amodimethicone emulsion is better for hair conditioning?@chemicalmatt @singhc10 yes (b) has more active but it is a bit more expensive too. So If used for the same active level the price would be almost the same.
Final pH would be adjusted to 5.The ingredients in (a) are
Amodimethicone %28-36
Trideceth-12 %1-3
Cetrimonium Chloride %1-3
Water %50-65I have seen the same product in Phique Shampoo Shampoo that i think is from @Perry.
Water, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Lauryl Glucoside, Stearyl Citrate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Polyquaternium-10, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Amodimethicone, Cetrimonium Chloride, Fragrance, Trideceth-12, Tetrasodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide. My main main question is about the viscosity of Amodimethicone itself. One is 30000 and other is 100000 cps.
Wich viscosity would be better for conditioning or there is no difference in performance? -

@em88 i want to make very good shampoo if not the best one. I have tried many surfactants. The best was ISELUX which was %10-20 better than SLES but 10 times more expensive than SLES. That much quality is not worth that much price.
What other primary surfactant do you suggest to replace SLES?
Drying the scalp is a problem that i want to avoid. Thanks for mentioning that.
If i use ammonium chloride or sodium citrate to thicken the Product instead of sodium chloride, would that also make the skin/scalp dry?
-
@PhilGeis @em88 it has citric acid and very small amount of that is enough to adjust the pH to what ever value they want. Sodium citrate is the second ingredient listed after the main surfactant which would be around %10 and more than CAPB, NACL and everything else. It doesn’t look that high amount of sodium citrate is there just to adjust the pH.
What other things can sodium citrate do?
-
It was 6 part anionic,1part amphoteric,1part non-ionic surfactant
