I would fight non inflamed with salicylic and inflamed with benzoyl. Not all acne is the same. The two ingredients are not in competition with each other but used for specific types of acne. If the person has a combination of both then use both ingredients.Isn’t salicylic acid anti inflammation too?

It isn’t an objective and homogenous response from the patient. Patients respond differently.Asking for an objective rating disregards the realities of Clinical practice. My question was not about the response or feelings of patients. My point was if in theory or research one works better than another for acne.

EntrepreneurMarch 29, 2022 at 1:25 am in reply to: What ug/g of silicone/hair provide good conditioning above which it feels heavy?@Perry thanks
This chart is about deposition of dimethicone by 3 polymers from Shampoo
They all have
14% SLES
2% CAPB
0.2% cationic polymer1% dimethiconeThere is a big difference between pq10 and cationic guar. So i asked what amount of silicone deposition should be aim for straight hair and as i am using Amodimethicone i asked about Amodimethicone if it deposit differently than dimethicone.
Any comments on that. -

I’ve tested them against my Apera pH meter many times and they are always accurate. So I use pH strips because there’s no other way to test emulsions other than making a 10% solution which I won’t do because it’s not accurate.I still use my pH meter for aqueous products though.
O/w emulsion is also like aqua’s product because the continues phase is water. You can check the pH of o/w emulsion the same as pure water.
If you have w/o that would be hard to check the pH at the end so you should check it before mixing oil and water.Making 10% solution is not necessary or accurate.

Use 25% of this concentrate and it will give you 20% pine oil
-
What is the pH and preservative amount?
It may not be enough for fungi

Mix surfactant with water, adjust ph, heat to 70°c, melt Peg 150, add it and keep temperature above 70 and use high shear mixer, when mixed cool it down and add cool down ingredients.

Write the percentage and procedure.
Decyl Glucoside has pH above 10 and looks like you don’t have anything to adjust pH with.

1. Do you mean 0.3% phenoxyethanol and 0.5% caprylhydroxamic acid?
2. Is this stability issue something we can see and notice by simple observation of product?
I am using 0.6% phenoxyethanol+ 0.15% caprylhydroxamic acid+ 0.2% tetrasodium EDTA at pH 5.1 in anionic emulsion and haven’t noticed any problem or instability in samples from 6 months ago. -

So if the formula has 10% surfactant, there will be 0.1% surfactant in this test sample and if it has 15% surfactant, there will be 0.15% surfactant in the test sample.
Am i correct? -
ngarayeva001 said:SA is oil soluble and I suggest using this advantage. Add it to your oil phase. I am not saying adding it to water is wrong but it’s more difficult to dissolve. Also, SA is irritating enough. Ditch bakuchiol and other unnecessary things. You are adding unnecessary variables.
He is converting it to sodium salicylate.
That oil phase of it can’t dissolve 2% salicylic acid anyway.

EntrepreneurMarch 24, 2022 at 1:30 pm in reply to: Chlorine removal Cleanser/Shampoo - Ingredients@ketchito doesn’t chelating a metal eliminate whatever effect that metal has?
For example you chelate iron in a product, it doesn’t do what iron does in a product anymore. although that iron is always there.

Yes dissolve salicylic acid in water before emulsification.
