MemberSeptember 17, 2020 at 1:13 pm in reply to: Formulating With Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine@thebrain can you say what are your surfactants in this Shampoo as SPDMA is cationic conditioner?
-
@Perry thanks
-
@AndrewSeel thanks
But i wanted to use glyceryl oleate alone as it is %100 active and less expensive than po65 mix -
@chemicalmatt
I did add it this way when with %9 surfactant. It didn’t work but when increased the surfactant to %15 it worked.
Thanks
Appreciate it -

The oils is extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil.
The emulsifier is Polyglyceryl-4 Laurate.
Cetearyl alcohol or glyceryl stearate to increase the viscosity. -

The ratio of each preservative in blends we make is the same as preservatives from reputable companies like Inolex wich is broad spectrum. This way it cost much less than if we purchase the pre blend.

@ketchito do all amphoteric surfactant interact this way with anionic surfactants or just CAPB?
What would be a good ratio between anionic/amphoteric surfactant for best detergency, mildness and foam?
-
@zetein in my experience CAPB can’t clean clean the scalp and hair for for adult oily scalp. Even at %10, %15, %20 active surfactant. I don’t know how it works for majority of people

@Perry thanks a lot

MemberSeptember 2, 2020 at 5:42 am in reply to: Mildness comparison of two Shampoo formula@ketchito that was informative. I thought CAPB and APG would be milder than SLES but it looks they aren’t.
Which APG is mildest in your opinion?

MemberSeptember 2, 2020 at 5:37 am in reply to: Mildness comparison of two Shampoo formula@Perry i couldn’t open this cir table.
Decyl glucoside may be the cause, I don’t like it either but in new formula we are just using a small amount because of glyceryl oleate. -
@Perry so this stringiness of Shampoo doesn’t have an effect on hair and scalp?
Does increasing the salt reduce stringiness?
If yes, is it the more salt the less stringiness or it is something like salt curve? -
@Perry if you smell the salt from very close it has a weak but unique smell. Although these Shampoos don’t have salt, they smell like they have a lot of salt when you put them on scalp.
About orange essential oil degrading, what would be the problem? (This batch of oil, this supplier of oil or this oil and we should try another essential oil?)

@zacchaeus i am currently making faces wash with SLES and CAPB.
What about pH of Shampoo bar? Does it need to be high too?
