What’s your favorite daily moisturizer?
Posted by Zink on March 20, 2017 at 6:45 pmCurious to what ya’ll use and why!
Personally I don’t have a favorite, but I’m considering using/making a daily wear moisturizer at least in the winter months as I’ve had excessively dry skin lately.
Looking at Amazon the best reviewed formulas are also the simplest, typically OIW emulsions with Petrolatum, Cetearyl Alcohol and Ceteareth-20, Glycerin or a Glycol, Dimethicone, Stearic Acid and preservative. (I’m going to go ahead and guess that Perry uses petrolatum
).

I use either our new vitamin C cream or the polypeptide cream. Both have visible effects.

I’ve got a bottle of Suave lotion that I use sometimes after washing dishes. But mostly, I rarely remember to use it.

@Zink - that is an interesting observation. When I first started in the cosmetic industry I would have agreed that most of the cosmetic chemists were men. But lately, I’ve noticed many more women coming in as chemists than men. If I had to guess men still outnumber women but the ratio is around 55:45. Of course, that could just be my biased experience talking, I don’t know the actual numbers.

Yeah, could be that they’re just not on this forum as much, seems like about 2x more men than women use forums http://www.pewinternet.org/2015/08/19/mobile-messaging-and-social-media-2015/2015-08-19_social-media-update_04/

Suffered many years from dry skin, tried everything on the market and never really solved the problem. In 2006 started to experiment with various blends of oils and found the best was Jojoba, Sesame, Olive, Coconut, and Sunflower oil. Worked well for me, and so turned it into a product which now has good sales.

mostly soap and prayers, to be honest
my skin is naturally very dry, but it’s not prone to flaking or irritation, so I have no real need to moisturise
the only time I’ve regularly moisturised (and often forgot) was when I had an injury from a road traffic accident
