  • What ingredients makes this Sisley scalp serum work?

This is a very expensive scalp serum that many people around me believes it works miracles at making their hair thicker and thicken the strands around their temples.

You put a few drops on the scalp and massage it on.  on damp or dry hair/scalp.

Here is the complete list from their website:
WATER/EAU (AQUA), ALCOHOL DENAT., GLYCERIN, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, PANTHENOL, ARGININE, `BOLOL, PYRIDOXINE HCL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, MAGNESIUM ASPARTATE, ZINC GLUCONATE, SALVIA OFFICINALIS (SAGE) LEAF EXTRACT, COPPER GLUCONATE, HYDROLYZED RICE PROTEIN, HYDROLYZED VEGETABLE PROTEIN, HYDROLYZED LINSEED EXTRACT, BIOTINOYL TRIPEPTIDE-1, THYMUS MASTICHINA FLOWER OIL, THYMUS VULGARIS (THYME) OIL, CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, PPG-26-BUTETH-26, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, CITRIC ACID, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, DISODIUM EDTA, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, FRAGRANCE (PARFUM), PHENOXYETHANOL, SODIUM BENZOATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, LINALOOL, LIMONENE, CITRAL. IL#1A

A few friends swear by this product and I tried it so I can make a simplified version of this before adding extracts and such…
but it did not produce the results that they get from this product. (no thickening or hair strands and not enough volume)

    here is attempt :
    60% water
    35% ethanol 95%
    2% glycerin
    1% PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil
    0.5% d-panthenol
    0.5% hydrolyzed quinoa protein
    0.5 cetrimonium chloride 30%
    0.5% phenoxyethanol

I also tried a even simpler version with peg-6 caprylic/capric glyceride
    67% water
    35% ethanol 95%
    2% peg-6 caprylic/capric glycerides
    0.5% cetrimonium chloride 30%
    0.5% phenoxyethanol

initially I thought the product was similar to a micellar cleansing water concept that just moves around the existing oil thats on the hair but when i saw a dermatologist mentioning “cosmetic lash serums work but are unregulated” in a conversation about lattisse… i decided to look at the ingredient again and saw that the can be a possible addition.

biotinoyl tripeptide-1 is very expensive so I wanted to ask for any advice/input before purchasing…

    my questions are…
    1.  Is it better to buy the ingredient by itself or a mixture like Widelash Sederma[Glycerin (and) Aqua (and) Panthenol (and) Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1] when it comes to performance
    2. Has anyone made a scalp serum like this that consumers accepted as effective
    3. How would you formulate this?

    thank you!

I saw it in some blend that was suggested to use as lash growth booster. After a quick search I came to conclusion that there’s no good back up. Even caffeine showed more sustantiated results (althogh the research was a bit nonsensical). Don’t waste your money on peptides.
